It's been a few months since we posted last so it's about time to give an update about what we'll be doing for 2.0. This is all tentative based on information we currently have about the release.
Currently we are accepting applications. Applications that are approved (meet guidelines, have required information, etc.) will be placed into one of two categories: social player (Friends & Family) or End Gamer. Those who are not quite ready for end game, but show promise (determined by our staff) will be invited to the Impact Gaming Community social linkpearl upon launch. Your application will be posted for our members to read, but there won't be a vote or anything, you'll just be IN the guild and given the rank of "Friends & Family" within IGC. There is upward movement within this social pearl too. Once you are ready for end game, you can request an upgrade and either use your original application to apply to the Neutral Impact Free Company (FC) or you can send us a new one. You will then be trialed as if you applied directly to the FC in the first place. Joining the social will of course allow us to get to know you personally, giving your application a boost compared to someone we don't know who just applies directly to the FC.
Those players who are placed into the End Game category will have their applications stored until launch. We will be processing these two at a time. That means only two players will be on trial at any given time. Trial periods typically last 3-4 weeks. If you make the cut for our End Game team, you will be invited to the join the Neutral Impact FC and can participate in our end game. All players in the FC will also be invited to the IGC social pearl, of course. The social pearl will have an officer to oversee things and schedule fun events and things of that nature for everyone.
Essentially this allows us to separate social players who are good and interested in our organization and those who are ready to test their mettle with us. This is our preliminary post about how we will be reorganizing ourselves to involves more players than previously. As such many other details such as looting system and things you might typically want to know are also undergoing revamp. In our time playing the game we've observed that there are many "free agents" out there that may want to get to know us before deciding to apply to us permanently and this system is designed to give those players an opportunity to get to know us and see what we're all about. While there is a separation of guild, there is no separation of any kind on our teamspeak, forums, or any other IGC-related stuff.
Over the next few months you can look forward to our new recruitment officer, Nakiroth Chanoix, updating y'all on new happenings and changes to the recruitment process. We look forward to reviewing the applications that come in and seeing what the BG, and the FFXIV community in general, have to offer our very tight-knit community (people often say this but they don't mean it--we do). Stay classy BG.
