Coconut Rusk Testing

I've recently started leveling up my crafts and have been reading up on all aspects that affect synth success rates and HQ rates.

My skills are still abysmally low but i might be able to properly test this with cooking my highest skill which is 53.

Kitron macaron and Coconut rusks have a similar description about being a favorite amongst artisan's so i figure it must affect crafting in some manner.

I've already eaten one and it doesn't affect any visible stat, hhp or hmp.

I have 4 stacks from when my friend was skilling up his cooking.

If anybody has a suggestion on what a good synth to test out the affect of coconut rusks on synth success rate / HQ rate with 53 cooking id be glad to test and post results.

Ok i skilled up my cooking skill to exactly 54.

I didn't use guild support or any skill enhancement items.

My mog house was giving off faint light energy from my mannequins which i doubt affects anything.

Started on fireday waxing gibbous 67% ended on earth day waxing gibbous 69%

preliminary results. i know but ill crank out another 100 synths tomorrow >.>

Keep churning them out. If nothing else you are at least experimentally verifying that se has not changed t3 hq rates lol.

I'm betting that, if anything, the crafting foods would only decrease break rates and/or reduce loss upon breaks.

Right now everything is statistically where it should be, so we just need to wait for more data.

Looks, as of now, like the rusk does nothing for higher HQ%

Can keep testing up to thousands if you want, 400 is a small size, but it's really your call.

I just recently stumbled across this thread and figured I'd do some testing of my own since I've been farming the crap out of peph. chips for wax/silent oils.
My skill is Alchemy 100+4 over the course of 1week crafting over 100+ wax synths each day it looks to me that when i used coconut rusks i had less of an hq rate but when i hq'ed it was hq3 about 70% of the time.
This week i'm testing chocolate rusks and so far going along with my theory I have fewer(although not as few as coconut)hq but mostly hq2 next week I will be testing sugar rusks.
So from what little i've tested with it seems each food effects tiers of hq if anyone would have anymore to add it would be much appreciated

Someone hinted to the possibility of the type rusk only affecting synths of certain tiers (coconut t0, Chocolate t1, sugar t2), and I might be inclined to believe it, these were all done with Coconut Rusk, a t2 synth:

In 177 synths, span over 3 days of random day and moon phase:
45 HQ, 125 NQ, 7 breaks
25.4% HQ rate
4% break rate

blah blah sample sizes, theres no way these coconut rusks are doing anything noticable to a t2 synth if they're supposed to increase HQ rates (+4%?) and increase break rate (-1%?)

And I just saw on ffxiahh it was wess who made the comment...but it was about what kinda HQ it increases, not HQ rate.

Keep up the good work.I'm very interested in the study of the so called "crafting food".I will not touch the food until I know exactly what they do.I apprieciate the effert keep it up! I find it interesting no Cook has proven to other crafters that this food is useful."Screenshots or it di.." you know the story.

The problem is that it is hard to prove an effect because you need astronomically huge sample sizes to account for variance. It would be awesome if Square would just come out and tell us what foods did. (Then again, I don't know if we would always believe them.)
