Oh yeah I was just pointing out that the easiest way for them to check out the cat is to check the dead bat. If the bat has rabies then they will usually treat the cat before it shows symptoms or anything even if it didn't get rabies from the bat. If the bat doesn't have rabies then you are in the clear.

Ok so the bat didn't die, it was fucking gone when we went out to look for it on the porch this morning to throw it away. WTF.

    Still taking her in tomorrow.

    Yea, this was really weird.

Could be that the bat is both gone and dead. Some lucky neighborhood carnivore might have scored a sweet easy meal!

Hope you cat is well. Rabies, in housecats, is less than fun.

Now I'm not gonna do that with our cat. My instincts say she is fine. I want to take her in and say we just inherited her and she needs her shots blah blah blah. But I do not want to find myself in a position where she is being taken away from us, etc. Also, shit's fucking expensive.

Is the cat probably okay? What are your experiences with vets and this bs? Any advice welcomed.
Get the cat checked out. It's not the cat's fault that it didn't get vaccinated.

Would you 'trust your instincts' when dealing with a restaurant that 'may or may not have salmonella'? Your instincts don't mean shit... sorry for the cold water shower.

If she is taken away from you, sorry, it sucks. But ultimately you need to see the benefit of keeping rabies away from your human loved ones, and perhaps saving the cat's life. Really doubt they would take the cat from you for being humane and seeking the appropriate treatment though.

This should really not even be a question. Take the cat to a vet. This isn't the kind of shit you play around with.

No really... there isn't a question here... just you wanting to take an easy way out.
