Honestly, my logic is pretty simple. If someone is in such a hard place that they have to borrow small change from you to buy food, they'll probably be in the same condition when the time comes to pay you back. That's why when I loan small amounts of money, I don't expect to see it back, ever.

If I had a suspicion that they were buying drugs or booze or something, I probably wouldn't loan them the money at all.

You need to have some sort of confrontation before you sue her. Leave a note (And find a way to prove you did), email, and confront any of her relatives. If you do not receive repayment, you can take her to civil court. However, there are associated fees and the trial could land in the middle of a school day or some other important event (Like FFXI update!).

Edit: Your first step would be to file a complaint and the system should "guide" you from there. You need to look up where to do that for your respective state. If the complaint goes through, hope that she "forgets" to file an answer since you auto-win!

Sure, if you get a shitty Target mountain bike. I use a road bike (generally $300+ new).

Basically, I needed a new 7 speed cogset for the back tire, which was like 25-27 bucks. When you replace that, generally have to replace the chain, another 10 bucks. $10 for labor, puts me at 45-47ish, rest came from tax.
