I'd love for this to be more like PSO, but I'd be willing to bet money that Sega is going to continue using the PSU model and just stick the PSO title on it for nostalgia.

I flipped out when I got my Lavis Cannon on my Purplenum Humar (which happened to be a 1/4353453423 drop off normal mobs). Fuuuu nostalgia.

I only ever got one on the Gamecube version. My odds weren't quite that low though. x.x Never got around to getting a Double Cannon though.

I never found a lavis cannon on the GC version. I did however come across a syncesta (two of which were needed to make a double cannon) on my oran HUnewearl. Fast-forward a couple years to PSOBB. I spammed the hell out of "today's rate" in Ultimate (on a redria) and maybe the 3rd slime put out the sword. If I remember right, I traded it off for a Lame d'Argent which upgraded into an Excalibur. It had the distinction of being able to hit up to 3 targets unlike any other saber-class weapon. That thing was a beast in the hands of a HUcast. You could crank out some nice numbers with it, but it was risky as hell given that its special attack used your HP. It was still hard to top a pair of high hit % charge vulcans however in terms of cumulative damage. Also, poor FOnewearls got screwed out of some very nice gear.

Freaking Lame d'Argent was a nightmare to get but got one finally with help over a course of time with some good % (no hit tho). My Fomar lovin' it though I don't have the acc to use the special, not that I really need to.

I had mine for the longest time and didn't even know I did til I needed to sell it for cash. To be fair, the last time I played it, I accidentally corrupted my file so I had no incentive to play again. Too much time invested to start over.
