Question about the "New Posts" section.

So I constantly use "New Posts" to keep up to date on threads.

Is there a way for it to auto-filter certain forums? That way it makes it easier to view quickly.

Yeah I know what you mean and I don't know any way to do this.

    Code:
    http://www.bluegartr.com/search.php?do=getnew&contenttype=vBForum_Post&exclude=XX,YY,ZZ
Where XX/YY/ZZ (and etc, just add a comma between each number) = ID of the forum you want to exclude in the search.

ID for the forum section is the first digit you see in the link when you hover your cursor over the forum name. For example, if I wanted Tech, Spam, and Buy-Sell-Trade out of there, I'd use:

    Code:
    http://www.bluegartr.com/search.php?do=getnew&contenttype=vBForum_Post&exclude=70,100,68
Bit of a slow way of doing it, but once you get the forums excluded you don't want, just bookmark the link and go from there. Was the most I could figure out with a couple min of googling. Would be easier if the search tools allowed us to use the "New Posts" search type, but that seems reserved to the "What's New?" link up above, nor can I figure out what's being posted to the server so I can just create my own search link.

I should probably make a link of new posts excluding spam since it seem to be what bother most people.

    Awesome, thank you so much!

Last question, if I hover over a section of the forum. Such as "FINAL FANTASY XI" group, if I add 48 (I think that's the ID). Will this method also work to filter forum sections? (Cant test on my phone right now, kinda busy lol).

Has to be explicit. Even children forums have to be added to the exclude list. I'm going to mosey about the vB forums after, might find a better option eventually.

Holy shit thank you for this, lol. While we're listing urls not listed, you can also use
    Code:
    http://www.bluegartr.com/search.php?do=getdaily
instead of getnew to get all recent posts without filtering out things you haven't read. I like this for finding recently read or commented threads in one shot without having to look through history or posting history.

My current filter is http://www.bluegartr.com/search.php?...29,130,131,133 -- thinking I'll make a few to separate what I feel like reading at any given time, I've been wanting to be able to do this for awhile but didn't think it was possible. Thanks again!
