I told a LS mate I was going to do Weaving and would therefore have to level Leather craft and Alchemy, he insisted he was going to do leather. I asked him to do Blacksmithing, Armorer and Gold Smithing. He was hell bent on leather and got it to 9 before he realized he needed to do more than one craft to support the others. If you can find 1-2 people and split up the crafts in a logical manner it should be manageable. Basically I now feel I need to get all crafts to 20 eventually, especially seeing abilities once learned on one craft can be use on any.
I like crafting, but I have gotten to the point where I can't stand the menu lag for everything. It takes 10 minutes to do 3-4 synths because its like 5-10 seconds just waiting for each new menu to pop up to get to the crafting mini game. And then when you make stuff manually you have to go through that horrible inventory that loops everytime you pass the last item. Even w/ the horrible menu's, if there was no menu lag it would be 5-10 seconds between starting each synth. That's fine for me, but I can't stand taking 30secs+ just to go through all the menu's and the delay after every action in the mini game
Slate grey supposedly is only used for Brown bronze chainmail. So that means you need brown mole dye too?I make Hempen tarbards, but I use em to make bronze chainmail. I got lucky and found someone with some slate grey die for sale for cheap. I gues someone tipped him off because his proces went from 500g for one die to 3k >.>
my LS on lindbulm we have around 14 people in the LS
but then theres a core 5 who craft like crazy
Myself - Leather/Armorer/Blacksmith - iv been making bronze Chainmail items like crazy on my server
CJ - Weaver/Leather/Alch
Devil- Bsm/Weav
Vil - Gold/Alch/Carp/fishing
Myti - Carp/BS
We can almost make anything we want in our ls. The main problems is the fuckin retarded lvl 30 crafting materials for lvl 1-10 items. Like uncolored Canvas for a lvl 12 blacksmithing weapon? come the fuck on. Now that we actually got a hold of one our Bsmith can start making iron nuggets and stuff come the end of this week. And that will open new doors for me being able to make lvl 10-12 leather boots and shit cuz they need iron spikes /sigh . This systems bonkers its annoying but so fun at the same time.
Shid, how do you guys make all the dyes? do you excavate for the mats? or buy the cloths in Ulduh?
I can make a tabard, but, like every other recipe, the mats are all over the place.
I think a 3-4 person group of crafters splitting up the crafts would work out great. Get together and do craft leves then have a teleport rotation where you take turns teleporting the party to do leves in other cities and also purchase materials. Last night that is what I did with my LS mate, we did all the leves in Gridania then I teleported us to Ul'dah and I was able to do the 4 craft leves for weaving there too, which worked out great because I was able to get support at the guild for the lvl 10 leves. Past 10 is a pain in the ass due to every synth needing specialized training. We also were able to make materials for each other and such. Now we just have to get 2 more of our LS to start crafting. I keep telling them you can hit rank 6-7 of any craft in one night easy.
i got 1-6 carp in 30 minutes with 2 and half local leves.
Yeah, tabards easy to make if you have all the mats, which take forever to get.
Also, okay, excavation, where do you get your bugs high drop rate? First excavation point a mined when I was a noob i got 2 taupe scale bugs, and some JP bought them off me right there for 4k for both. I regret it now, lol.
Where do they drop well? I've excavated probably 10 more points in limsa and only gotten those O'Ghamrmamrma coloured rocks.
Oh, another note, what are those O'ghwhatever rocks for? YG and databased say theyre all turned into smooth rocks for gatherers to throw.
All the colours make the same thing. So are they basically garbage? I'm not gonna start carrying around rocks to throw for crap damage, lol.
I've found the taupe bugs are a rare drop from Lvl 1 (and Lvl 2?) Quarrying Points. I got 2 my first and third times Quarrying outside of Camp Black Brush in Ul'Dah.
Yeah, I got carpentry to 6 or 7 yesterday doing a couple local leves and making some willow wood chips from logs I had harvested, I then got Leather to 7 with a couple leves and making sheep leather with the wood chips and skins I farmed the other night outside Limsa. So yesterday I took 2 crafts from 1-6 or 7 and then got Clothcraft from 10-12. Getting Clothcraft up was the bigger time sink, but it might not have been as bad as it seemed because I made some materials for my friend. God Damn inventory management is the biggest problem right now.
Yeah, I hate whenever i trade another crafter, the menu loads and going down items and stuff is so insanely slow that i always feel like the crafters probably getting pissed.
But when I craft stuff for other people I'm totally understanding of things taking way longer than they should. Lol
I'm gonna pick up a few Leather leves and cloth leves i think whe I get home tonight. Level cloth to 7 or so, run to Ulduh, buy some dyed hempen cloths and then Pump out some bronze chainmails. Assuming I can find taupe bugs and an alchemist.
Lol
Thing i dont get i hit 14 Smithing and got into surplus on craft mode even tho i switch jobs all the time.... How am i supposed to LV up crafting any if in surplus and also how the fuck can i craft something when its required lv says 11... But at LV 14 i break everytime (mainly Parts) lol....
Edit: side note if anyone reads this .. How do you take a ingame Screenshot where it would put it in SS folder of FFXIV . . i know hold scroll lock but then hit printscreen and no go . . . I just usually use fraps/Msi Afterburner for SS's
The problem with getting the bugs from quarrying at the moment is that no crafter is selling or even attempting making higher level sledgehammers for Miners. I can quarry up to lvl 5 if I at least had a decent sledgehammer, and help the crafters out further. The better the field weapon the better results I can get. I even went so far as to log the ones I saw in Halatali.
Crafters are currently low-balling the fieldworkers with high prices on Seblina. So when i have to drop 250k~ for an iron sledgehammer I'll be charging a premium for bugs to recoop my costs. Now I'm not everyone, but I'd be pretty certain to say a lot of miners at least feel the same way. Fishing is in it's own bubble, and I don't know much about Botany at the moment.
Not sure how you hit surplus already at rank 14. I never hit surplus getting to rank 20 alchemist. I took conjurer to rank 12 and thaum to rank 10, though. Maybe that helped pad my thresholds. Today resets my surplus I think, as its been a week today since I started.
