They already said it's not canonical, no? That's why it's a reboot and not just a prequel. Whilst it is the protagonist Dante, it's not technically the same one, I suppose. Either way fuck this game, fuck it so hard.

I think I've heard some random guy say that recently. Might have been a capcom community dude. However in a Ninja Theory interview soon after the reveal they said this is the story of how Dante became Dante. Basically the same character. Anyway it will be easy to pretend it didn't happen unless the next game builds off of it.

Hopefully enough people don't buy this so Capcom picks it back up and makes DMC5 themselves. I imagine if this does well though they'll either have Ninja Theory make another or outsource it to someone else yet again.

I just can't see this making it to retail like it is. The backlash was huge. At more than one point, ninja theory's servers blew up from all the hate threads on their message boards.

I know I'll be crying if they continue to make DMCs.

But I know that DMC6 will be fucking bitching, because seemingly Capcom makes a really good DMC after a really bad one.
