I'll take a highly stylized and fully realized art direction over some generic gothic/anime... thing... that is pretty played out these days. Even if the new character style bothered me, the game looks fun enough to overlook it. I see it as more of a 'No More Heroes' reluctant, punk-ass hero thing.

It could be a whole hell of a lot worse.

Character design all aside, the gameplay does look fairly good, here is hoping the control mechanics are a step up over DMC4, I couldn't volley for shit or get decent combos in that game to save my life, made Bloody Palace a total bitch.

I personally think the game-play looks choppy and slow as hell with the graphics barely up to par in this generation. It's a W.I.P. so hopefully they can get they're shit together but in an age with Bayonetta, shit not looking good.

DMC5 will go the way of DMC2, an average action game that's an embarrassment to the series. The combat reminds me of DMC1/2, which isn't good, because as much as I love DMC1, the combat was fucking basic (which is acceptable and understandable for the first game in the series, not he fifth).

This shit needs to give me a hard-on like DMC3/Bayonetta did.

The combat and graphics look low rez compared to the previous games, more cartoony which sucks. Not to mention the trainwreck they turned Dante into. They got so many people logging into the official site complaining when this iteration of Dante was first shown that the website was shut down numerous times. I'm REALLY suprised they stuck with it.

Nope. As much as new Dante looks like a faggot, I don't give a fuck about him. I was still half-looking forward to the game prior to E3 just because we really hadn't seen any gameplay. What little we did see seems like a massive step back from 3 and 4, which is completely unsurprising given the developer. DMC is perhaps my favourite game series ever and I was more than willing to let them off for fucking up Dante if they could at least make a decent game, but my hopes aren't too high after E3.

That combat just looked really slow, and clumsy to me. Probably a pass and rebuy the DMC4 disc that I lost.

Also I haven't played Bayonetta, should I get that or DMC4?
