Hello! Let’s all tread together the treacherous path of the final day of the work week joined by some great music!
A few years after the incredible Saving Private Ryan hit theaters, we were at the height of popularity of the World War II first person shooter genre. Along came a game that many compared to Spielberg's movie. It was an awesome game called Medal of Honor: Allied Assault.
It wasn't the first MoH game but it was amazing. Tight gameplay, varied environments and a killer soundtrack made this game a truly cinematic experience. I always remember the Nazi's theme and, of course, the game's main theme which served as the theme for all your heroic antics. Today I bring that theme to the blog. It's almost like it came out of a movie - the whole soundtrack is.
While today's gamers might have difficulty jumping to the game's dated 3D graphics, at the time it was state-of-the-art, and the gameplay really puts you into the action. Omaha Beach's landing was a brutal experience! Traversing a devastated town while avoiding enemy snipers was a tense affair, while infiltrating an enemy city can keep you on edge every turn. Man, I miss that game - good thing I have it on Origin.
Game on.
