Either do alot of people who drink, so when they thought they were in the clear blowing a .1 and landed in jail, it probably confused them.

I'm just showing how unaffected Mel was by the alcohol. If a .10 BAC is the legal limit in some states, then a .12 BAC is hardly any worse. That means that it wasn't the alcohol speaking, he actually intended to make all of those Jew slurs.

I understand where you are coming from, but the guy was a recovering alcoholic. He just relapsed. It doesn't matter what his actual BAC was, the fact of the matter is sometimes when you relapse even a small amount of booze can get you drunk as shit.

Yeah, he went apeshit in 85 doing booze and drugs and disappeared to Australia for a few years before he started kicking ass in the Lethal Weapon movies in the late 80s.

Anyway, there is a TAPE of Mel's most recent arrest. The Malibu police department has control of it, but godbless the Freedom of Information Act. We will definitely be seeing this eventually.

And being .2 over the legal limit is a pretty big amount, considering that anything over .4 is proven to seriously affect your driving ablity (if you're pulled over with a .4 and over, and the officer says you were erratic, that's a DUI in my state).

It's .02 over the legal limit, .2 over probably would've killed him I just can't imagine anyone blowing a .12 BAC and acting nuts. However, as others have mentioned, this is Mel Gibson AND he was an alcoholic in the past. I guess that would contribute to it. I know it varies from person to person, but I think if most people blew a .12 they'd still have control over their actions, for the most part.

there are variables besides amount of drinks consumed and blood alcohol level, like the amount of time he spaced the drinks out over, and what he was drinking (those of you who have had a $7 handle of vodka vs. goose for example know what i mean). if he is a recovering alcoholic, blew a .12, and was acting nuts even for him, he must have friggin pounded whatever he was drinking and driven immediately to get like that after 5 drinks.
