As you can see, I've been a bit busy over this last week.

The last two weeks before that I farmed about 70K honor to cap honor and JP on 7 different characters in preparation for the new season.

And there is no longer a requirement to “grind” unrated BGs for Honor each season, so the real time investment isn't changing as much as some players are perceiving it to be.

Blizzard greatly increased the amount of arena games we have to play to cap our weekly conquest points, in exchange for us only having to do one honor grind per character each expansion.

I spent 20+ hours a week grinding arena on my 7 characters all season. That's fine, if I don't have to grind honor, it's a completely fair trade. Then I log on today to this:

You are correct. The season transition and introduction of new PvP items was different this time around, and we apologize for the lack of advanced warning.

The Season 9 set was removed today. The items available for purchase with Honor Points are now considered lower tier Season 10 items. They are still the same items from Season 9 in terms of aesthetics, but the item level and stats are slightly higher to ensure that the Season 10 honor gear has the correct item level relative to the Season 10 conquest gear.

It's likely this is how things will work going forward and we'll be sure to make that more clear when the next season transition takes place.

So all the farming I've been doing the entire season, and all the extreme grinding I've been doing over the last month in particular was made completely obsolete. All the thousands of gold I've spent, right down the drain.

I'm madder than I've ever been at this game before. In short, I'm mad as Hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!

Yes, after they said they wouldn't be releasing better gear I farmed battlegrounds for weeks and then they released better gear a week after they made S9 gear available for honor. Instead of the usual system of one new set being released each season, they added two new sets: a lower tier set(still better than last season's gear) for honor, and a higher tier set for conquest points.

For the past five years they've been releasing a new PVP set once per season. This season they decided to release two sets per season one week apart without telling anyone. This wasted a month of grinding for me and fucked over countless other people in similar situations, even more so for them because I imagine the average person actually has a life and they can't grind 24/7 like I can.

The best part is, US servers had a bug where the conquest point to honor conversion didn't go through and it went straight to the final stage where the honor gets converted to gold. EU servers didn't have this issue, so they got to buy the full set straight away.

Although, the way I interpreted the conversion announcement was that the honor would be changed to gold before the season started, so I think the EU servers might have bugged too and their conversion just didn't go through in time. So Blizz failed in two different ways in two different regions. I swear to fucking god they are the most incompetent company in the universe, even worse than the Bluegartr staff.
