Right. This is what I am worried about. And I understand that if they did this, then there would be no more IVs which would be absurd. But I almost feel like this might be the case due to SE's oversight/quality control department. Cures one shotted bosses and etc...

Was just making sure that if they applied this to crafting gear as well, then there would be no way to get IVs.

Getting reports that gear at ilvl of the dungeon bond way faster. Great news in some ways, at least for me. So I think that means that I can finally use all these myth mats and bond i90 gear.

The current experts are only considered to be i70 though right? I mean, I'm still hopeful that you can bond i90, but...

i80 I believe; thought it goes by the iLVL of gear dropped.

This really shouldnt have been up for debate but just to clear up the confusion, i just got a TIV cunning from i46 boots. I'll assume the materia conversion is untouched for craft gear (which has always been different) but the bond rate from the ilvl difference is probably true here.

Just did some expert dungeons and ST, i90 bonded VERY fast. Great news, BUT people bought out the myth mats here at Excal lol.

    after ~22% per full run

It's now viable to actually bond the ilvl90 gear now

I had doubts due to the patch, but i can say for sure that gear 47 still gives T4.

I'd be interested to see if the drop rate has increased. Apparently i70+ and even i90 doesn't give a 100% T4 materia.

They need to fix the materia combiner and get rid of the elemental materia.

Confirming that ilvl 45-50 crafting gear can give Craftsmans IVs. It also spiritbinds /very/ quick in Castrum and Praetorium.

I got a DoL T4 last night off of i45~49 gear, so it applies there as well.

Some pretty great open world information here; quick TLDR:

From this we can gather a few things.

Gear will SB 19 levels below the mobs' level and 18 levels above
Bonding 'peaks' at exactly 10 levels below the mob
Bonding 15-8 levels below the mob gives a huge increase to SB rate
Overall bonding seems to have gotten a nice boost until you bond items 8 levels over the mob
This may have changed in the last patch, but what is the lowest iLVL gear that can yield a TIV materia? I was thinking about pumping out a set of HQ ~i39-45 gear with useless materia melds and giving the Sahagin stronghold a go tonight, but am not sure if the iLVL 39 stuff is a waste.

45 is the minimum. 35~44 gear will give you T2s with the rare chance at a T3. T4 rate on 45~55 gear seemed to be around 5%~10%, and with what little bonding I've done since patch, that probably hasn't changed (1/11 so far; note that this was all DoL gear, so who knows if they separated the T4 rate of DoW/M gear).

je viens de test les Accessoire 38-39 ça donne toujours du IV en tout cas
it say: I just have test accessories 38-39 and it still gives the TIV ones.

I'm no Frenchie, but does it literally translate to "STILL gives..."? Because I'm pretty sure they couldn't before, so that's a weird way to say it.

Also, I'm curious if they give T2s or T3s normally. I think it's safe to assume anything that normally gives T3s can sometimes give T4s, but if they give T2s, it's super weird for them to sometimes pop out T4s. More data needed, I'll probably knock some out this weekend.

Yes it's mean "still gives". and as i said, without any proof, i've got a TIV on a jewell Lv.37~

  19. #79

The "still gives" makes no sense because you couldn't get TIV from anything below 45 before.

Still waiting on a pic of a TIV coming from anything below 45.

So I crafted three full sets of i45-49 gear and SB'd one full set of 11 items. All items were HQ with 1 materia attached done on Castrum Occidens LV 49-50 mobs (most 49). Some notes:

    • SB rates in general are way up
    • iLVL makes a HUGE difference: The i45 Fingerless Raptorskin Gloves spiritbonded fully to 100%, then 2nd pair to 78% by the time my i49 items hit 100% for the first time. (78% faster)
    • That said, it doesn't appear to be a linear rate increase as iLVL vs. mob varies. When my i48 items hit 100%, the i49 items just reached 95% (5.3% faster)

    Results were:

    Savage Might III x3
Savage Might IV x1 (i49 item)
    Strength III x1
    Heaven's Eye III x2
    Savage Aim III x1
    Quickarm III x1
    Dexterity III x1
    Water III x1
