There's also mention of them including shit happening in Esos. Would be cool if that would include five forts. (if you din't read TWOIaF five forts is like Esos version of the wall that protects Esos from a place called Gray Waste)

See you in 2030?
they are aiming for 2020, year after GOT wraps up
Age of Heroes? So Bran the Builder and the 13th Load Commander, or would this be before the War for the Dawn?
Didn't Bran help build the wall?
I just want my books. It's never gonna happen at this point.
It's fine, we can get Brian Sanderson in to bang the series out a book a year.
Sanderson can suck my nuts. If Martin doesn't finish I hope he makes sure no one else will
By the series description, it looks like it will be what led up from the end of the Age of Heroes, into the Long Night and the War of the Dawn. We could see the true with Azor Ahai, how the Others were defeated, and the starts of the Wall being built. Possibly Storms End and Winterfell being built as well. The series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.
great setting for a prequel but with Zet, finish the fucking Song and maybe Dunk and Egg first you big fucking weird looking walrus fuck.
Feh, Roy's already dead, hardly seems to matter now.

-.-
So he made a blog post about this and pretty much stated his involvement is pretty limited. He has met with the writers and is giving them pointers and is helping to form the pilot but they are doing most of it. He says HBO pasted his picture all over the place next to the new showrunner for the prequels but he doesn't want people to think he's very involved and they should give Jane Goldman the credit.
With the way the last few GoT seasons have been going, I think I'd actually prefer if he was a bit more involved.
