Part of the employment process at CBC/SN is to be a massive Toronto homer I guess.
It was Craig Simpson, not Galley...both terrible homers though.

The bullshit part about that goal was that it wasn't reviewable. The net clearly came off the moorings before the puck was in and Freddy missed it precisely because his push off the post got him nowhere because the net moved.
bruh
Its not like theres a rule in the rulebook to govern this exact situation.63.6 Awarded Goal - In the event that the goal post is displaced, either deliberately or accidentally, by a defending player, prior to the puck crossing the goal line between the normal position of the goalposts, the Referee may award a goal. In order to award a goal in this situation, the goal post must have been displaced by the actions of a defending player -it was, no attacking players dislodged the net nor did they propel a defending player into the net-, the puck must have been shot (or the player must be in the act of shooting) at the goal prior to the goal post being displaced -Gally was in the process of shooting when Andersen dislodged the net-, and it must be determined that the puck would have entered the net between the normal position of the goal posts -it did-. When the goal post has been displaced deliberately by the defending team when their goalkeeper has been removed for an extra attacker thereby preventing an impending goal by the attacking team, the Referee shall award a goal to the attacking team. The goal frame is considered to be displaced if either or both goal pegs are no longer in their respective holes in the ice, or the net has come completely off one or both pegs, prior to or as the puck enters the goal.
Only Leafs fans would get in a tizzy because a goal like this was allowed to count.
Moral victory. Sabres played a hell of a game, Hellebuyck steals one. Onto the Rangers.
In farm news, Hershey has pts in 12 straight and Vanecek and Samsanov are looking solid as fuck
Nate Thompson + Arizona's 5th to the Habs for Calgary's 4th.
Habs drop 20 spots in the 2019 draft for Nate Thompson, who looks to be a solid addition to the fourth line.
Didn't they just get Dale Weiss to fill that role though?
Joel Ward retired
Dutch Gretz is a winger, Thompson is a center.
If the Caps could stop taking penalties, thatd be great
Oh nice, trade deadline is on a Monday. I'm off Mondays woo
Oh.... welp, no wonder I didn't remember it at all
So apparently Jacob Markstrom is hurt. Canucks have no other goalie, so they are starting Mike DiPietro against the Sharks..lol
