B/C getting Snake in Smash was something that darling Konami employee Hideo Kojima brokered with Nintendo in 2007 for Brawl.
It helped Konami, Nintendo, Kojima, and the Metal Gear brand all at once.

8 years later, Kojima left Konami brandishing double middle fingers, vowing never to work on a Metal Gear title again, and to make Kojima Productions bedfellows with Sony no less.
So now Konami really fucking hates Kojima, because his departure virtually evaporated any real chance they could bank on (reboot) their only viable living room IP for like a decade following his departure; nowadays they're more concerned about surviving long enough to do that on their recycled DDR and Pachinko cabinets.

To be fair Tekken world tour payouts have been a joke for awhile. Apparently there was no pot bonus from Bamco this year.

No pot bonus from bamco is shitty, but it's still odd that zero money from sponsors, admission fees ($90 per person, or $45 if you signed up early enough), sunday finals tickets (which aren't included in general admissions and could cost a few hundred bucks), etc trickles down into prize pools for an event of this scale.
