    Its Avast, not Windower. Remove it or w/e.

    Anyone got any good ideas for a new antivirus program? Avast has outlived my interest in it.

    A temporary fix:

    Disable avast
    download windower from the usual place
    install to temp directory
    cut paste launcher from temp to your current windower directory.
    run windower
    let it boot to POL
    reactivate avast

    MSE is actually fairly competitive. Pretty light, transparent, and simple to use. Not a bad choice if you just want something to work upon installation without fiddling with settings. On some system changes, its little icon will change and give you options on allowing things it's caught, like say to your host file.
