FFXI kinda boring me to death. Has anyone played D&D Online? How does it stack up to table top? How's the overall entertainment & replay value? Is it worth making a hobby?

sucks if you play it more than 1-2 times a week, really like guild wars with a monthly fee.
It was fun, but not $13 a month(or whatever it costs) fun. I just did the 7 day trial and left it at that
From the other forums I visited, it seems very flawed. Supposed to have really fun interactive combat, very low level caps and the game is centered around quests. They ran out of stuff to do after one month though.
That and it's laggy as fuck on a reasonable computer. MMO's that require top of the line shit to enjoy = fail.
And I had such high hopes for the game being a D&D purist myself. --;
The game was decent imo. Yeah, kinda sucked that it needed top of the line hardware or you would be in lag city, but me being a D&D player myself(2nd addition ftmfw) I enjoyed It for the beta, and played about a month into retail before I lost intrest. If they had made a few changes I would have probably stayed alot longer
just grab yourself a copy of NWN and hit up one of the persistant worlds (and when they finally fix NWN2, those as well)
thanks for the feedback, I was only interested because I'm a huge AD&D fan. Suppose I'll continue to stick it out with FFXI.
Been playing since the good ol' red box set myself.Originally Posted by Guyverarmor
I didn't like the fact that content wasn't scalable depending on how many people in your party, player level etc. Controls were weird too. Graphically the game kicked ass though.
