    Taking out the intro music

Something that's bothered me from day 1 (But always been too lazy to ask) is the music at the character-select screen, since I turn off all other games sounds and listening to something else.

Is there a way to take it out? Or put a blank WAV somewhere to fill the void or whatever.

There used to be a different track that played at the character select screen, before COP came out. Was infinitely better I thought.

I remember reading about some program to listen to FFXI music, so if anyone has that it should be easy to figure out.

Just swap the two if you want the original back.

Or wait until the CoP music stops and it'll go back to the RoZ sound... and when ToAU, they'll release new music for the character select screen... so deleting the CoP track will only last for less then a week...

I'll throw out a wild guess and say that the music used in the trailer of ToAU shown at the fan fest (not the beginning of the video, but when the music picks up and there is the fighting and other things) will be the new ToAU music for the character selection screen.

I have a program that swaps music dat files... I converted "tool - eulogy" from mp3 >> wav >> bgm file... then renamed it as my character selection screen music..

if you want the program to convert from wav >> bgm and bgm >> wav lemme know and i'll put it up on filefront

I'm interested in this program, i'd love to convert the bgm of a few game areas to something nicer (like the star onions version of 'gustaberg' so my newbie days playing the expansion jobs is more enjoyable) .... and replace the damn into music too
