Anyone know where I can get ahold of these bad boys for my little 'collection?' If you do, please and thank you let me know. I would really like to see these. Been recommended to by a friend who no longer has them.

That what you're looking for?
There is an old and new version, but that looks to be the older one.
I have the fansubs if thats what your talking about.
I'm not sure, to be honest. My friend wants them lol I bet him if I put it on BG that I could get him the hook up (and I want to watch them myself). He said make sure to mention OVA, whatever that means. He told me, I just forgot what it meant.
After you finish watching that, see Legend of Crystania. It's a nice follow-up to the Lodoss War series and the movie.
OVA = older versionOriginally Posted by Okan
TV series = newer one.
Basically the difference between the two is the ova is about 5 1/3 long. It had such a huge fan base that later on they decided to remake it in TV format but made it a whole season's worth.
Definitely watch the older version first. It's funny this was my first like real anime, absolutely love it. XD I still pop it in now and then for nostalgia purposes. ^^ If you like the OVA once you've seen it try the TV series. They changed a lot about it but it's still really good.
@ Huggo for some reason I couldn't get into Legend of Crystania, but I only watched the first VHS when it came out. Does it pick up a bit later on?
The TV series is very long winded, But looks a little better than the OVA but certainly watch the OVAs 1st if you can. I picked them up from ebay in one of them dodgy looking cardboard foldout boxsets for next to nothing.
OVA = Orginal Video Animation
Usually OVA is 10 times better than the TV series. a la Tenchi Muyo
I've got the original releases on DVD somewhere and the TV series. I definetly like the original series better than the TV but that may just be nostalgia talking.
It also has one of the best lines in an anime.
Dwarf to Parn: How am I supposed to train him? The boy couldn't kill time.
It's not quite the action story that the original series was, it does pick up, yes. But it probably isn't the type of action you're expecting. There is action and battles, yes and I think they're cool and all that.Originally Posted by Ksandra
It really is a neat little movie though, to see what happens to Ashram after the first series.
I have both the OVA and TV series on sub'd tapes. I have LoC (both) on DVD.
I'll sell if you name a good price
