Rajas vs. Tamas

Ok So I'm a 75 WHM. I just finished CoP today so tomorow I need to decide what ring I want. In addition to my WHM I'm also taking up BLU to 75. Obvosouly I'd take a Tamas for my WHM and a Rajas for my BLU. The question I don't know is which would be more useful for the job at 75. Any thought will be greatly appreciated.

If you only plan on ever playing mage jobs, get the Tamas. Even if you only ever play one melee job, the Rajas is the best ring by far. Blows all the others away IMO.

And your WHM (which will be your job for most any HNM event or scenario) will benefit from the Tamas highly.

But, yea this is a touchy subject. You're going to get melees screaming "GET RAJAS" and mages singing "GET TAMAS." Flip a coin and be done with it!

You'll never use both stats on Tamas at the same time. You WILL use both stats on Rajas at the same time. The StoreTP on Rajas is very useful (if you know how to optimise StoreTP for your weapon).

The Store TP is worthless for most jobs. If it doesn't get you 100 in less swings you would be better off wearing an accuracy ring. For the vast majority of melee jobs Rajas is little more then Weaponskill E-peen.

Firespit on BLU is MND + INT mods, so are Maelstrom and Blitzstrahl.

Casting a spell of one type while getting hit by a spell of the opposing type (i.e. casting Cure while getting hit with a BLM nuke.)

You're generally better off TPing in accuracy rings vs. Rajas.

I own Sattva (75 PLD and NIN) and personally the only reason I would want to own a Rajas would be the Subtle Blow for soloing on NIN, the STR/DEX/Store TP mean nothing to me, and NIN is one of the jobs that primarily benefits from the Store TP bonus.

The store TP is never useless. Shit happens and TP gain isnt constistent. You might be hit (normal hit or WS w/e) or you might not always hit all hits in a WS. In those cases store TP can be very helpful and +5 is no small amount. Its just generally damn good and underestimated.

But Tamas is great too. Its all good.

Actually this is wrong, because every action you perform will benefit from the Enmity-3, as well as a INT or MND stat. Also if you're anywhere near decently geared in your melee job, you're prolly not using Rajas for more than a WS macro if that.
