official forums state that in phase 3 they will be implementing link shells so that's as good as a friends list, I don't think we will actually see a FL but I would be happy to be proved wrong by SE

I know a decent number of us are on emperor, I heard more we're planning on coming. I think somewhere Sono said a bunch were on Jecht.
