Strong start imo with Diddy Kong Racing, Luigi's Mansion Castlevania SOTN and Metroid Prime.

Shooter section on Tuesday night is kinda interesting

Wednesday is also strong, Kirby, Megaman and finish with Zelda TP HP!

Thursday is a not miss! CT, then Mario Kart then Tetris, SHIT WILL BE HYPE,

ending with that ALTTP


Friday ending wow.

I think the 8h00 for FFVII is the longest a single game ran at an GDQ

Sunday has me excited for Metroid Prime, now that it's no longer a dead franchise with Castlevania right after.
Monday kinda bummed that Adventure Island is so early, Castle of Illusion will be a good mid-morning distraction and the day ends with DK64.
Tuesday will be fun with Banjo-Kazooie, HG/SS, and Hollow Knight.
Wednesday evening is hype starting with Star Tropics and ending with Zelda.
Thursday is solid with Chrono Trigger and Mario Kart.
Friday I'm miffed the Zelda stuff happens so early, so I'll have to rewatch that later. The mini Metroid block and then FFVII.
Having Majora's Mask, Mario 64, and Earthbound close it out this time instead of Super Metroid is a welcomes change, and a great event cap-off.

Yea, like you can't finish the game without equipment because each piece solves a movement problem or removes a barrier, but the only thing your sword is used for is combat, so theoretically you could play the whole game and never use your sword.

That means that if you are using items in an offensive nature(like a bow and arrow) your ammo is finite. Instead of being able to shoot a sword blade at full health an unlimited amount of times.

FF7 speed runs are pretty fun to watch in a Super Metroid race sorta way where almost always half the racers die. In FF7, a huge number of runs die to either Demons Gate or Material Keeper lol.

Yea man you gotta think the difficulty in FF7 is gonna get exponentially harder as you go further through the game, simply because you have 0 time to grind enemies to level up, and a fair amount of that was required to keep your enemies evenly matched.

Granted there are some things you can do that will trivialize the entire first disc, like if you get the beta enemy skill from the midgar zolom at the start of the game, that spell basically one shots anything on the first disc, or pretty close to it.

Not related to this GDQ, but expect Windwaker HD and probably Paper Mario TTYD next AGDQ. TWW HD discovered reliable Barrier Skip in April and had a ton of runners shot down this SGDQ since it was already shown at 2017 AGDQ. Paper Mario TTYD found reliable palace skip for English (was JP version only for a long time).
