A degree in networking service technology (halp)

Anyone pursuing this have advice? My cousin is starting community college and has no real direction, and I'm trying to push him to do this because of the high demand for people who can do this.

    -What careers does it follow
-What kind of money do you make
-Difficulty of the classes you take
    -Where to start

Just remember where you live will dicate the demand. California he's a dime a dozen. Some backwater redneck shit hole he'll be in much higher demand.

I'm actually pursuing this degree myself, my college also offers certification tests after the classes have been completed. Looking at my curriculum, there are about 4 classes pertaining to cisco training, and about 8 in the means of A+ and MCSE training. What I have taken and what is required to be successful in the field is Visual Basic. Other classes are also required in the field, really it's about a 2 year course. Definitely worth it wherever you are.

Meh, A+ is the high school diploma of computer certs right now. required, but not highly regarded like they used to be. Even MCSE doesn't mean as much now. Hell my manager has zero certs, but through self teaching probably knows more then some of these instructors you get in class.

ehh, just being honest. don't put all your stock in certs. They don't teach you everything. Hell till they changed it, a bunch of questions on the A+ exam involved questions that the answer was replace the printer -_-
