Your top 5 ENTIRE Albums from the 00's List

From the one that brought you the thread for the 90's, comes the next decade, the 00's.

List your top 5 Albums from the 00's, the catch is, the entire album has to be good. You could just put the CD on and let it play all the way through and then loop back around.

    In no particular order:

    1.) Avril Lavigne: Let Go
2.) Eminem: The Marshall Mathers LP
    3.) Linkin Park: Meteora
    4.) OutKast: Stankonia
5.) Sigur Rós: Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust

    Linkin Park - Meteora
Shadows Fall - The War Within
    Lady Gaga - The Fame
    Daft Punk - Discovery
    Outkast - Stankonia

Marshall Mathers has the stupid ass skits that I'll always skip over, so can't make the cut.

They're not long and they're funny, no reason to skip em really.

The College Dropout belongs on any list of top albums of the 2000s.

As for more substantive contributions I have none, I only listened to that because we would play it after work at Best Buy as we closed the store. 5 might be more albums than I've listened to in their entirety in my entire life.

1.) Red Hot Chilli Peppers: By the Way
2.) Coheed & Cambria: In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3
    3.) Flogging Molly: Drunken Lullabies

Edit in: 4). Fall Out Boy: From Under the Cork Tree

I'll have to think on 5.

    i actually prefer Late Registration

but hard list. i played Arcade Fire's Funeral maybe more than any indie album of my life except for maybe The National's Boxer. Stankonia mb Outkast's finest work. D’Angelo's Voodoo is the best god damn R&B album of the century. Sigur Ros created an impossibly beautiful work of art with (). Queens of the Stone Age dropped not 1 but 2 of the most fucking rock albums of all times in two years with Rated R and Songs for the Deaf (featuring maybe the GOAT rock line up). i'm going to a concert in a week to see Transatlanticism and Give Up. Broken Social Scene's You Forgot it in People meant a whole lot to me growing up then. and did anything in the decade go harder than Tha Carter III.

tough one man 2000s were 12-21 for me so it's when i really came online for music, maybe still my favorite musical decade

Just realized it's from the 00s, not all time. I'm just gonna leave it anyway.

best thing Ubisoft ever did was use Saeglopur in a trailer for that mid-2000s Prince of Persia reboot

Still picking 5 within the range of 10 years is still fucking hard. Gotye: Boardface slapped. It was also prime Death Cab for Cutie period, I was still enjoying shit the Foo Fighters were putting out, NOFX dropped a bunch of albums I enjoyed, DragonForce and A7X heralded an already existing power metal scene, Outkast and Em could do no wrong, Orbit released XLR8R, Bowie dropped Heathen.

This has made me realize I don't listen to as much new music these days. My new purchases and discoveries in the past 5 years have been super meager. I wonder if it has anything to do with deciding to have kids.

02ish to 08ish were definitely my critical hunger for indie music phase.

It's not just you. I've been looking into "hits" of 2010-now, and even before the pandemic, there was a decline.
