    Commentary

You have to fight three waves of two Gaaps, then Hecatoncheir. The Gaaps spawn a new Gaap with full HP if you ever deal ANY damage to them (even lethal damage) which isn't dark-elemental. Hecatoncheir will not cast Quake more frequently than once every 3 turns.

A BSB with a dark AOE component or a fast-casting multi-hit dark single target component (Shadow BSB, Raines BSB, etc) will make short work of the Gaaps. You have to choose either to use a Heathen Frolic on them for medals or stick with Magic Breakdown and have one of them spawn a new Gaap; honestly it's not a big deal either way. Hecatoncheir himself is honestly pretty anticlimactic since his damage is pretty weak and his single target attacks can be Draw Fired (and Retaliated if you want to bother) while his Quake can't be used too frequently.

Total medals = 18, meaning you can only afford to lose 3 medals to get Mastery.

    Commentary

Xande acts twice per turn in Weak and Very Weak phases. He cannot cast 凶 Meteor twice on the same turn but may cast it on back to back turns. Xande always follows 凶 Meteor with his AOE Attack command. Xande can cast his AOE elemental spells once every 3 turns (individually timed) in Weak phase or every 2 turns in Very Weak phase.

Xande is an unholy terror. His 凶 Meteor is utterly devastating (800% piercing damage) and he can clear the way for it with any of a number of other magical AOEs, so MBlink won't protect you from it reliably. He can spam the ever-loving shit out of 凶 Meteor and there's nothing you can do about it but suck it up and debuff his Magic as much as possible. Fortunately he's very much a glass cannon with hellacious offense but not much bulk or defenses to speak of, so something like Raines BSB can tear him to shreds pretty quickly. It's just a matter of who dies first. Alternately you can go the slow and steady approach with lots of stacking magic debuffs.

Event Quest Notes: Lack of MBlink in-realm is a bit of a problem in this fight because Xande just shits out devastating AOE magic. You're probably going to have to reset a few times just due to unfortunate AOE Attack-凶Meteor-AOE Attack-凶 Meteor luck. This is further exacerbated by the necessity to Dispel/Banishing Strike his buffs (he "only" has 550 Speed, so the Haste does actually make a real difference) and the lack of really good Support options in-realm. Ingus can carry Magic Breakdown and Banishing Strike, but Onion Knight is the only native source of Full Break in the realm (and only if you've Record Dived his Support up to 5 stars) and the realm also isn't really chock-full of stacking magic breaks either. I ended up doing this fight by just going YOLO DPS with Desch RWing Raines BSB and Onion doing his own BSB and everyone else just trying to keep everyone alive and contribute a little extra damage when they could. With that method, the fight is very short and very, very bloody.

    Commentary

Garuda acts twice per turn. Garuda cannot cast Lightning more frequently than once every 5 turns. He casts 凶 Lightning on his first turn in Weak phase (and no more than once every 6 turns thereafter) and in Very Weak phase (and no more than every 4 turns thereafter). He can pair Lightning and 凶 Lightning on the same turn if the cooldowns line up properly.

This is another brutal, bloody DPS race of a fight, although at least there's no Cid's Mission to worry about this time. Note that Garuda can and will use Lightning on his first turn and his AOE Attack on his second turn, so be prepared to eat a ton of AOE damage right out of the gate. It may be wise to Mako Might/Dr. Mog's Teachings a healer BSB even if you don't normally do so. If you have enough survival to last even a little bit of time on your own merits, a RW Alphinaud BSB with a synergy mage weapon and a little bit of party buffing will absolutely annihilate Garuda. Mine, with one of Arc's staffs, Cid's goggles for the +wind, and two 30% buffs was dealing 7000x8 on entry and 9999x4 with the instant cast command. You can probably cap the command with only a single magic buff (possibly even just the Faith ability) if you have a synergy mage stick.

Hopefully I can do CM. I looked at my III characters and have 4/5 at 99. Luneth, Arc, Ingus, and OK. Trying to decide if I should use Desch or CoD for that 5th slot.

CoD has access to Darkness skills if you're not using Raines as RW so it's probably the best option here.

After some consideration and advice in this thread, I think I will egg CoD to 80 for this CM.

I'm talking about U+, Xande is weak to dark too. And CoD would probably be better suited for the 5th slot than Desch.

Ult+: I don't have any magic synergy weapons but I do have OK bssb, dingus bssb (mostly useful for magic lure here), arc's word of kindness (very useful) and a bunch of cid raines RWs. Between that and taking cloud of darkness to 65 I just blasted xande down.

Ult++: Garuda is actually pretty hard! Dr Mog doesn't mention it but it's a mixed phys and magic fight. I brought tons of mitigation and drain skills on 2/5 of the party and ripped it open with wind damage. Being forced to take a drg is annoying but I have a wind sb on cid highwind (VII) so that was that.

MP200: Oh lordy. I did this one solo and eventually I'll go back for MP. It wasn't as timeconsuming or complex as nemesis but it was considerably less fun - counter confuse so I took magic but that runs into element problems. Those people with tri-element bssbs or dual element magic commands will have a much easier time. For context, killshot was my vivi's bssb command 1 doing like 2400 damage.

Xande was a pain for CM, so I pulled on banner 1 and got lucky - CoD SSB, and BSB. The reflect from BSB made a HUGE difference!

80 CoD - Dire Heal, Memento Mori - Mako might - BSB
99 OKnight - Full Break, Magic Breakdown - Dr Mog - BSB
80 Arc - Ultra Cure, Shellga - Lionheart - Word of Kindness
80 Luneth - Gaia's Cross, Banshing Strike - Kinghts Charge - Earth Ward
80 Refia - Fires Within, Lifesiphon - Battleforged - Dance of Carnage

Refia and CoD BSBs did all the damage - Reflect was like having a 6th PT member doing ~10k each turn.

To level CoD to 80, I took her solo into the FFIII 90stamina EXP dungeon, Memento Mori and Dire Heal was all she needed to one-shot dragons. Got a full level each round.

U++ was easy, but I have Squall and Kain BSBs.

yeah, no issues with U+ CM - after landing OK BSB on banner 2, i'm able to RW wall so that simplifies things a great deal.

U++ was pretty challenging even for my OP wind team, didn't pay attention to the medal conditions though so I need to go back and clear it with a DRG. i'll probably take cid (VII) since i have his enwind SSB and sky high unlocked.

Pretty much demolished U and U++ after getting mitigation up.

Xande was a pain because of Meteor spam.

MP Raid I 1/1'd last night. I was kind of surprised, when I saw it was Hein, I was like... "Oh fuck". But i got some competetant people to group with and knocked it out.

U I did 1/2 with my A-team except I removed Orlandeau and put CoD in there so I had a magic user for Cid Raines BSSB on the adds. Lost on medal due to characters lost because boss singles out Aerith near the beginning, but I rode Chant to victory after that.

Having a little trouble on U+ CM at the moment, don't wanna give up though. I have:

    Luneth - Full Charge/Lifesiphon - Wings Unfurled - Swordshower
Arc - Ultra Cure/Ptotectga - Dr Mog - Words of Kindness
Onion Knight - Armor Break/Darkra - Ace Striker - Blowback
    CoD - Shellga/Dark Zone - Arcane Secrets
Ingus - Magic Breakdown/Banishing Strike - Truthseeker - Oathsworn Espada

First attempt with SG RW, I got it to 50%
Second attempt with OK BSSB RW I got it to 70%(damage raped without SG)
Third attempt I tried Yshtola BSSB and got it to 30%, that was my best attempt so far.

I have Desch and Refia at 80 as well, but neither of them have any BSSB's. Gonna keep trying but not sure what else I can change to make it better. OK doesnt have 5* support yet and I'm out of Vitality Motes, been waiting on them for awhile.

Dump luneth, add Desch, use Cid Raines metamorphose RW and have cloud and desch consecutively use it and command 2/1 as appropriate. Every element except darkness is going to be resisted so most of the sbs won't do much.
