Well kids, its Week 17. Another season has fucking flown by.

In the NFC, all 4 division winners are locked, home field is locked as is 1 other playoff spot. The 2nd bye and WC2 are still up for grabs.

In the AFC, things are a lot wilder. Only 1 division is locked, no byes are set. The Titans can place anywhere from 2nd in the AFC with a bye to missing the playoffs.

DeSean Jackson has requested release from the Bucs after a “confrontation” with HC Dirk Koetter at a private meeting between Jackson, Koetter, and Jameis Winston. Koetter had called out Jackson’s lack of effort in practice the past two weeks while Jackson was dealing with injury. Jameis was supposed to be the mediator. Looks like it didn’t go well. The fact that all three of them might not even be with the Bucs next year is pretty funny.

As an aside I’m positive Koetter is a lame duck HC right now but I think the Bucs will stick it out with Jameis.

Not like there's much out there free agent wise. Fitzmagic goes from Montana to Bortles at the drop of a hat, Sanchez is done. None of the other QB's expected to be cut or become free agents after this season really are any better than crab legs, and the draft is meh at best in the QB market. I'd stick with Jameis, and hope for a top 5 pick in the following year draft to get their next QB.

Not like there's much out there free agent wise. Fitzmagic goes from Montana to Bortles at the drop of a hat, Sanchez is done. Yeah, I don't see him going to the Bucs though, when you got the Jaguars and Dolphins in much better shape for a playoff run. Think the only two teams more fucked up right now as far as front office drama is the Bills, Raiders, Jets, and Steelers, and 3 of those 4 already have established QB's.

Sitting on Jameis another year, likely with a new head coach, is just dumb. I don't care what is available. He makes the dumbest throws in the entire NFL, is borderline psychotic, a rapist, a thief, and his teammates don't even seem to like him. You aren't winning the SB next year, regardless. The worst thing that can happen to that franchise is he plays "above average", on his 5th year option, and you end up signing him for 100+M because the GM cannot risk doing otherwise.

He's already playing above average. Picks aside, this is his best statistical year.

Without question. Koetter is terrible.
I like their GM though. Bucs have drafted pretty well lately.

Didn't say he wasn't. If they have a new coach, GM, or both, and he plays "good enough", then that is a bad thing for them long-term. Pick up anyone else, be shitty next season, and get one of the good QBs in 2020. They could probably get a king's ransom for Evans, before he commands top dollar.

Edit: Nvm, forgot they already gave him a boat load of cash.
