Yesterday was 2 degrees with a -20 degree windchill (30-40 mph winds). Couple of guys on the industry section ran across one poor soul well on his way to human popsicle status. Today we spend the majority of shift gathering the local homeless in to vans and shuttling them to the shelters. All of them are at max capacity but we had a couple dozen volunteers come in before day work to help serve hot food and drinks to some of these guys. One dude I picked up today spent the night in his wheelchair and when we tried to get him in the van, his skin peeled off the back of his legs on to the plastic seat. Was not a fun day to be caught out in this mess
