What fragrance are you wearing? Cologne and Perfume thread

Thought this would be a fun thread to discuss fragrances.
I used to wear Joop! back in the day because it was unique but the novelty wore off. Recently got introduced to Creed and bought a sample set and found them to be quite pleasing specifically Aventus and Original Vetiver. I also sampled the new Viking as well which I’m starting to like more and more.

Light fragrances in summer daytime and work (year round):

Emporio Armani He (been using for over 10 years)
Mont Blanc Legend - I also pair this with Mont Blanc Legend Aftershave. I use traditional shaving equipment (safety razor, brush, soap) and finding it much more gentle on face than 5 something blade ones.

Winter Evenings:

Armani Stronger with You (gift, too strong for my usual taste but pretty good)

Wife bought me Bvlgari Wood Essence, going to try it out in winter.

i refuse to use the word cologne, it's a fake idea. i am a staunch supporter of perfume as the preferred universal term

spring/summer i generally rotate through:

comme des garcons amazingreen

i really love amazingreen, but it has almost no staying power. usually completely dead within 2-3 hours. i would love to find something similar that actually sticks around and develops a bit more.

fall/winter rotation right now is

comme des garcons black
maison margiela jazz club
tobali iron wind

there's a zillion others i want to try/buy but i've managed to keep that impulse in check since covid started.

I was curious about Amazingreen and looked up its profile and it's interesting as hell:

Top Notes
Palm tree leaves, Green pepper, Dew mist, Jungle leaves

Heart Notes
Ivy leaves, Orris roots, Coriander seeds, Silex

Base notes
Gunpowder accord, Vetiver, Smoke, White musk

Being an Eu de Parfum it should last 5-6 hours but I suspect the Top and Heart notes lift quickly or just isn't as strong and you get left with the base notes.

CDG perfumes are mostly in that vein of very weird/interesting profiles, a lot of it tends to fall on the more experimental end of the spectrum. i regret not trying out a ton more of them when i was at dover street market a couple years ago.

but yeah your assessment is spot on, the top especially fades quick. i expected more based on it being an EDP, but this was a useful lesson that the concentration doesn't really tell you the whole story. it's kinda become my default if i'm just hitting up the store or doing a few quick errands or whatever. on the other end of the spectrum, iron wind lasts like 12+, ive put it on before a night out and its still going the next morning.
