According to Efren Ramirez (Crank, Napoleon Dynamite) Crank directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are actively in the process of trying to get a third Crank film to the big screen. It was also explained that if Jason Statham doesn't end up returning to reprise his role in the franchise, the directors will move forward without him.

As stupidly unrealistic as these Crank movies are, I still enjoyed watching them. They were just so fast paced and full of adrenaline filled ridiculousness. If a third Crank film actually did end up getting off the ground I'd most likely see it, just to see if that could out match what they have already done.

Considering what the 2nd film had to do to maintain audience interest, it probably won't matter who the actor is for the third since he'll be a walking Katamari Sphere of naked chicks he's fucking, defibrillator pads and syringes.
