blu + radiant breath = good stuff

Anyone else tried exping off IT BLU beastmen yet?
They can cast radiant breath that does 1000 dmg big AOE range to the entire party not to mention it seems to be a very very short casting timer.
Instant death to all taru mages...
And it seems to do very consistent damage... we got hit with radiant breath twice and each time was 1000dmg on the dot to everyone who didnt have stoneskin on.
Oh and it binds and silences everyone too.
You can silence the blu mages so they dont rape you with that spell but is it just me or is that a bit overpowered atm?
I dont recall Seiyru ever doing radiant breath for that much damage...

Seems like this spell alone makes it worth lvling a blu...

Plus if the Beastmen are IT to you, that means your damage on IT will be 1/10 of that.

IT mobs in the new expansion pack are so broken didnt you know?
IT mobs here are equivalent to T mobs back in the old days at best. Esp if melee in your pt have merits.
I fought IT beastmen with a standard krt mnk pt and hit up chain 60+ before taking sanity breaks or me dying to radiant breath lol.
Hrmm, well IT THF mobs are another source of chain breakers too i suppose.

Friend of mine and I were going through Mamook to get the Mamool Ja Training ground staging point. We aggro'd a group, so my NIN friend starts attacking the PLD lizard and I sleep the 'Mimicer'. I had no idea what mob type it was, nor did I really care atm.

I see "The Mamool Ja Mimicer is no longer asleep" and go to hit my sleep macro. Next thing I know, I'm dead. It did Radiant Breath on wakeup and 1 shotted me. ><

A word of caution: the IT beastmen can be very nasty if they decide to kick it up. I made an IS / merit / exploration melee burn party yesterday and went hunting in Mamook. We stumbled across the IT lizard-men in the lower level and a few of them copped an attitude. Particularly the BLU and BLM types.

I think the BLU had a ridil, cos he shredded my shadows and used a back-flip JA on me. Not to mention some of those BLU abilites (like radiant breath) were annoying.

There was only 1 BLM that gave us a scare. It decided to cast Thundaga III on me when I initally voked it. I instincively ran away from the pt to try and prevent everyone from taking the damage. I made it far enough that I thought I should be out of casting range, and a second later the spell hit all 6 members of the party... even melees standing on top of the mob. Either these beastmen have a huge range on their -ga spells or it automatically hits the entire party. It left me with about 200 HP, but luckily I was far enough away that I got Ni up before it came over to whack me. Exploring is fun!

Also worth noting: we had some ACC problems on these mobs... enough that we actually had to ask the BRD to switch to Madrigal. BRD had apparently forgotten how to cast madrigal though.

Hehe, I was the rdm in chidorii (brd)'s party. Gravity solved the problem just fine. We didn't fight beastmen back to back, so the recast timer wasn't an issue.

Something like that happened to me, it wasn't using many TP moves or anything, just warm-up, I was solo skilling up shield on a BLU Mamool at the zone to Mamook and when I went to zone it, it did Radiant breath during the zone and killed me. >< No LS members, and only a NIN in the zone so I had to take a home point too.

BLU learn weaponskills so if the BLU mob does, say, Warm-Up because it's a Mamool, then I wouldn't see why not. Learning spells it casts though, I'd assume no.

Because of the bad breath issue, we've also been pulling with sleep ;D Sleep, silence.... and then kill. They're sluts I foresee "adjustments" in the near future.

Bard could always do lullaby > threnody > silence, then let it come to camp or cast dia to wake up.

Me, I just avoid the blu's for xp after finding out about radiant breath first hand last night - I mpk'd my team with that pull
