Heya all, just wanted to ask a couple quick questions. I'll be heading into my first Dynamis run later tonight (Sandy), and I need to get an idea what sort of expendible items (potions, echo drops, etc) I should bring to the fray...

The necessary expendible items vary from area to area but, as a general rule, you should always carry a stack of Poison to all dynamis'. Good leaders/pullers will tell you when the Black Mage enemies are being pulled or if the low chance of a statue sleeping everyone could prove fatal. A Reraise Hairpin/Gorget can help out a lot in a crisis and save you a bunch of exp. Outside of that just your normal food.
The only dynamis I ever needed poison potions for was beaucedine for the final boss. If your LS is good, you shouldn't have to worry about sandy. My LS had a grand total of 2 deaths there, a PLD and a WHM.

I thought she meant it was "her" first dynamis O.o
It really depends on which city you are doing....
A stack of echo drops, a stack of poison potions, and a stack of holy water (along with your normal food) should cover any eventualities wherever you're going...
reraise hairpin
use it
bring it
LOVE IT
Thank you everyone. I did eventually find out it was the LS's first full-fledged run through Sandy (lot of newbies and such), but somehow despite 3 major wipes we pulled it off... (edit: least some of us did)
Title: Dynamis - San D'Oria Interloper Get! ^^v
Grats
Congrats on your sandy run! I too lead a dynamis LS, sandy's one of my favourite zones , nothing funner than pulling the SMN train kekeke.
After your LS becomes more familiar with dynamis, you'll be laughing at sandy
Heh, the LS I used to do Dynamis with one time went too far and aggroed the ENTIRE East-Ron gate, don't ask me how we didn't wipe to that.Originally Posted by Lordwafik
We had suprisingly little trouble with the dollmasters thanks to some outstanding sleep work by the black mage squad. Though now that I think about it, I believe one of our pullers did indeed train the E. Ron. gate to us and caused our 2nd wipe.
We'll be hitting Bastok tommorow night, and hopefully from what I've heard it's a lot easier than Sandy is. We shall see...
Bastok is a joke, only issue there is death alley. Oh yeah, there's a statue at the Zeruhn Mines entrance that's a trap if I'm correct, be ready for it :D
Personally I feel bastok is easier then sandoria simply because there's a lot less issue of linking other mobs. It's all on you. Do you like San d'Oria where it's short but enemies are really dense (and the gate pulls seem like 80% luck)? Or do you like Bastok where it's an easy sweep but it's a lot of mobs to kill? It's quite a lot. Once we lost in Bastok because we ran out of time. -_-
Plus the specials of the Quadav NMs aren't as lethal. It's like a huge push back with gravity effect. It's called Roar of Mugha or something. Look foward to it.
Difficulty for Clearing 4 Nations (Easiest to Hardest):
Jeuno
San d'Oria
Bastok
Windurst
Overall Difficulty for 4 Nations to Full Clear (Easy -> Hard):
Bastok
San d'Oria
Windurst (debatable but difficulty after clear is pretty mild)
Jeuno (debatable but much higher mob density than windurst after clear)
