Most impressive musician I've ever heard

I'm sure you've heard of him, musicians, but if not, check this out.

Fuck, sorry, once I start I cant stop. Best singer I've ever heard, minus Michael Graves.

Victor Wooten is undoubtably the most talented bassist around right now.

Ya damn right. Good to hear from ya Amarok. You seen those dime bag tribute series guitars they made? I forget who makes em, but they had the singer from trivium endorsing them - which was odd, totally different style. They should've used like Slayer or somethin like that.

Nah I haven't seen those. Slayer would have been cool to endorse them but I hear Kerry King is a huge douche bag and he would probably say no. New Slayer album is good btw, sounds a lot like older stuff.

A couple things I've been listening to in my car are Aborted's "Goremageddon" and Dripping's "Disintegration Of Thought Patterns During A Synthetic Mind Traveling Bliss". They are both a few years old but if you haven't heard them I think they're great. Aborted is a lot like Impaled or goregrind/gore metal era Carcass. The Dripping album is just insane.

One of my all time favorite death metal albums is Wormed's "Planisphærium". It's incredible but it's not like most death metal so it's kind of an aquired taste.

Victor Wooten is one hell of a performer. Best show of his I seen was @ summer camp, three sisters park in chillicothe IL.

    And his lead... Regi

definatley has a style of his own, which btw, is godly!

I have this crazy uncle who took me to see Bela Fleck and the Flecktones when I was eleven or twelve and Victor Wooten blew my fucking mind. That guy is too strong.

The bassist guy is good when he's playing slow, but when he tried 'shredding' on a bass.....it was extremely sloppy.

Don't get me wrong, he's got talent. But he's a very far cry from the best there is.

Claypool is amazing, but he's more of a guitarist on bass. Wooten is probably the most talented bassist around right now.

Mike Gordon is also one of the best bassists ever, and my personal favorite.

When i heard flyleaf (the first single they released mainstream), i thought, "damn that girl got some pipes". See that video, she's pretty cute to boot. I really like the girl's voice from evanescence(sp?). Amy Lee maybe? It's so different.

this is the first i've heard of victor wooten, and he is good.

my favorite though is still squarepusher (tom jenkinson)

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=MLcxve603-4

he does all his own stuff solo. i have all his albums, and they're all great.

aphex twin used to be my favorite, but he hasn't been putting out much new content for a while so squarepusher has edged him out.

less claypool is pretty awesome as well.

As a drummer as well, I gotta say that Frost is fast - but thats about it.

There's nothing there. He has fast double bass. I'm not saying the man lacks talent - just ...diversity in play styles and patterns.

Carter Beauford of DMB is a much more impressive drummer imo.

Victor Wooten, Billy Sheehan, Jonas Hellborg, and Stanley Clarke are the big 4 bassists as far as technique imo (if you haven't heard of one of them, check 'em out ;3). John Myung is pretty damn good as well.

If you like Wooten on bass, there are a number of people that are as good as or better at guitar than he is on his instrument of choice, including: Shawn Lane, Guthrie Govan, Allan Holdsworth, Rusty Cooley, Paul Gilbert, Buckethead, Bumblefoot, Mattias "IA" Eklundh, Stochelo Rosenberg, and Greg Howe. You might want to check some of them out as well.
