Alright, I'm a nice fan of arcade FPS's. Obviously the best entail Virtua Cop 1/3, Time Crisis 3, Ghost Squad (holy shit this game rocks) and considering today when I found it in the center of my local arcade replacing Time Crisis 3 (which held that position for many months) is House of the Dead 4.
But when it comes down to it, which is the best Arcade FPS out there? House of the Dead 4 was fun, you have to shake the gun -rapidly- to break free from enemy's grips, or open up new/shorter paths by shaking the gun in the alloted time. You can also throw grenades, neato! The boss right before the last boss though... holy crap HE is the money sucker. Lost like four bucks to him alone (and me and my two friends Sean and Elliott were busting through this game the first time sharing just a ten).
If I had to choose an absolute best FPS though, it'd be Ghost Squad. Not only can you choose different costumes and guns, you gotta unlock them first! I always pick the Cowboy costume because I get this Chuck Norris feeling to it.
Today I tried out the last gun on the list for my arcade (it doesn't have a lot unlocked, maybe like 6 guns, but according to an FAQ I read about it the game has a shitload more) the Magnum. Its so sweet shooting enemies through walls and scoring quickshot bonus points, haha.
Not only that but its not like your playing the same game everytime, you can choose 2-3 different paths at some points. And the game "levels up" and gets harder until it reaches a max level of 16. Its hella cool
I guess the point of this topic is-- what's the best Arcade FPS out there? I'm thinking Ghost Squad. What about you?
