Game Error

I have a game error when I try to run the regular game, without the Windower that looks like this:

Terminated as error occurred in FINAL FANTASY XI. Failed to initialize Direct3D. Please check that this computer has all the required specifications to run FINAL FANTASY IX.(-1)

The odd thing about this problem is that my game runs fine with the Windower except for the new crash-Windower problems.

I'd really like to get sanction or signet please so does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem?

Please explain in very basic computer dumb person terms.

change your settings in ff config.

To what? I don't think I've opened that since I turned the opening movie off.

change the rez to whatever you want to run. Like mine has a option for 1600x1200 now so i picked that and was fine. ONly one you have to change and itll work again....I miss partyTP ><

Ahh, I just put it on default and that worked. Thank you.

Game looks horrible on default. I wonder what I changed 2.5 years ago.
