I can't get Eschaton to activate. I'm under 30% as most webpages say and still can't get it to activate. Does it really have to be red HP?

Both you AND Ultima need to be below 30%HP, not just one or the other.

step 2 - summon ultima
step 3 hit ultima once or twice until she has red life
step 4 ???
step 5 PROFIT!!!!!!!
