    Jedi petition UN for religious rights

    Two Jedi this morning turned up at the UN's London HQ to demand official recognition of their religion, The Sun reports.

    "Umada" and "Yunyun" - aka 27-year-old John Wilkinson and 24-year-old Charlotte Law - timed their "protest" to coincide with today's UN International Day of Tolerance, which they'd like renamed "Interstellar Day of Tolerance".

    Wilkinson said: "We have come here today to ask that we are recognised as the fourth largest religion in this country."

    Indeed, more than 390,000 Brits are practising Jedi, according to the 2001 census. Brighton is the country's principal centre of Jedi activity, with 6,480 professing to follow the faith.

    Chewbacca was also on hand to petition the UN, and said via translator Yunyun: "It is not fair that there are lots of different life forces across the galaxy that are not getting recognised." ®

    Oh my God.

    The figures revealed that 0.7 per cent of the UK population gave their official religion as Jedi, following a massive campaign to try and get it recognised.
    LMAO

    Edit:
    Coming very near the bottom of an official list of religions put out by the Statistics Office, Jedi Knight is known by the code 896. Heathen comes in at 897. Followed by Atheist at 898 and lastly None with 899. It's not exactly a ringing endorsement though since the 800s come after every other religion, no matter how obscure, and 700 is used for all "other religions"

    You can almost literally say "May the force be with you"? lol???

    I have to say though, I've always kind of felt that "the force" was just a loose interpretation of Christianity anyway.

    As soon as someone shows me how to toss things around the room w/ the force, I might convert.

    So if this became a religion

    God = Yoda
    Devil = Darth Vader or Darth Sidious (I like Vader)

    Pope = Han Solo
    Arch-Bishop = Chewbaca

    Virgin Mary = Leia Skywalker (As If)
    The poor lonely boy/man looking for a reason to live and accept his faith = Luke Skywalker

    Judas = Obi Wan (One) Kenobi (Fucker Cockblocked Anakin for Jedi)

    you can continue to add HURRAH!!!!

    Vader is definitely not the devil.

    He's the example of redemption in the story, of falling from grace and redeeming yourself at the 11th hour.

    Besides, Anakin was the virgin birth anyway, which would technically make his mother Mary. Its like what if Jesus had gone into seclusion for 40 days and actually listened to the Devil instead of rejecting him.

    Obi-Wan is the baddest motherfka ever. The end of episode 3, "YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE. YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO DESTROY THE SITH, NOT JOIN THEM. I loved you Anakin, you were my brother." *walks away while Anakin burns*

    Fixed.

    But anyway, I wonder if this is how Scientology got started...

    Science H. Logic you're right!

    Scientology, to me, is just a cult that took off big.

    Think about it for a moment.

    L. Ron Hubbard was a Science fiction writer who founded a religion based off of things that happened in his fiction books.

    If George Lucas starts doing midi-chlorian tests, then it is time to run for the hills.

    That could be how most major religions started too, right?
