    Chat logs

Alright, I'll keep this short and simple.

How can I dig through my FFXI data to find chat logs? There was a problem in a recent Dynamis run and there's some information that I need from the logs that will clear up this matter.

Before anyone says it: I used the search function. It came up with 1900 some odd results.

the text files in there are your most recent logs of about 24 hours in the past. it's scrambled in there, but you can easily find what someone said.

Top are the newest, I think at least. Best and only way to find out is to log on and type somthing, then log off and see which files have what you typed. If they're at the top then you know.

It was nothing big. RNG pants dropped in Sandy, and the only RNG in the alliance had it, so it was basically free lot. Well, my friend (Kanin) has RNG at 63, but his sub that he selected was RDM.

The only person that had RNG as his sub was Drusyc, but his was of a lower level (61, I think).

Apparently someone said, "Free lot," so Kanin rolled and got 915 or something. The LS leader (Arista) forced him to pass. Kanin did so without any trouble and allowed Drusyc to lot and gain.

After the run, we talked about it, and Arista came to the conclusion that Drusyc should lose points for it because there was competetion. Drusyc immediatly was like, "Wtf! I didn't want to spend points for it!"

So, the whole system is flawed. It's not point bidding or anything.

So I'm done with that LS. =P

The leader is, quite frankly, mentally retarded and can't make up her mind, and there are too many "leaders."

Like I said, it wasn't anything too interesting, but this has happened too many times, and I'm fed up with it happening.

FYI: It doesn't normaly keep 24hours worth of logs. Its based on the amount of chat lines saved. So the more text you see the faster the oldest logs in the series will be overwritten. It also does not keep the most recent log as 0. As your log cache space fills it will dump the data into the next .log file in the series. To get an idea of the order of the logs sort by date modified.

Same concept in not so many words: What you see on the screen is what's on your harddrive.
