Not only this, they allegedly said they're using the actual code from the PS1 games. The engine is the only thing being updated, minimal tweaks to make it work and everything. If true, sick as fuck.

Supposedly the licensing for the music was the reason they held off this for so long. It took a really long time to get the important artists to agree to sign off. Seems like a no brainer to me, these were arguably the 2 most famous sports games ever made.

Yeah that makes sense. I don't think the original music is a "great touch", but absolutely MANDATORY. I think that's what got a ton of people into ska and punk music back in the day.
