    Death of a PS3 question.

    So got home last night and went to watch some shows on one of my 60gb PS3's. It had been off all day I turned it on started a show of the flash drive and about 2 minutes after the PS3 shutdown and started beeping and flashing red. Soooo no warning before this, system hasn't froze or made any weird noises, nothing.

    After looking around this seems to be the pre-YLOD situation, when I try to turn it on and goes blue>green>yellow once then goes blinking red and beeps and shuts down with 3-4 seconds. Problem is FF XIII is in the system and I can't get the fucker out. Anyone have any idea how to get it to stay on long enough to eject the disc?

    either keep trying and hope to get lucky or take apart the blu-ray drive and get it out yourself.

    Or do what I said in the other threads and fix it yourself.

    If you are gong to send it in for repairs taking it apart is a bad idea because they might not work on it. When i sent mine in they had an option to report a game inside the system.

    Sending it in for repairs will cost you around $150 if it isn't under warranty and if there is a game inside it will take roughly 6 weeks for you to receive it. There is a chance you won't even get it back, as when it happened to my brother a few years back, they never sent him Mirror's Edge back even though he told them it was stuck inside.

    Thanks guys, gonna try and repair it myself and recover the disc no worth fooling with Sony, if I can't make it work I would rather have a new one anyway.

    Does anyone know if there's been any sort of progress on the FF13 issue? I don't want to keep putting off playing it, but I don't want to get it for 360 either.

    Just play it, the problems don't affect the majority. Mine has been playing fine.

    Mine died while I was using neither a disc or the hdd, it's gonna happen when it's gonna happen regardless. I would'nt worry about it, I had this 60gb since almost launch and between games/blu-rays/tv seasons probably put 15,000hrs on it so I knew it was coming, just pissed about my disc being caught inside. 8(
