Which part of your computer increases FPS more, Processor or Video Card?
And is high-speed broadband, such as Cox internet, fast enough to hold up at later parts of the game? BCNMs, HNMs and such?
Thanks for your input.

videocard is god in all things videogames, including fps. although if you are running with 256ram or a celeron processor for example there is only so much a videocard can handle.
and any broadband connection will handle endgame ffxi considering the game itself caps off at 56k.
Okay thanks. Time to save some cash for a vid card. ;.;
I rarely get above 12FPS. Damn the world.
FPS doesnt mean jack in this game since your max is always 30FPS. Soooooo....... I wouldnt waste your money on anything worth $100 or more.Originally Posted by Mekhami
I use a 6800Ultra Commander Series and still have my FPS dropping to 9-14 FPS. So if I was you id wait for X-box 360 since they are removing the frame rate cap.
The game isnt capped at 56k, it caps at about 120k (roughly 20kb/sec for us people on broadband if i remember) For people on 56k, the bandwidth is adjusted but it's still a lagfest.Originally Posted by Andarvi
CPU and Videocards both work together but if one is slower then the other then there is going to be a bottleneck somewhere. Usually people have good processors (p4's etc) but have the shittiest videocards on gods green earth
So what should I do to lower lag?
Move closer to Japan? lol
Haha, well... I was thinking more of things I can do to mah computer Cause yeah.
