Was wondering what would be a good program to use to make a banner for a linkshell website and other special thing that i could put on the banner (i.e. changing the NPCs every time you visit etc, etc.)

Photoshop. Too bad it's proprietary...wonder where you can get a copy...
mspaint
Fireworks.
I've used microsoft digital image pro before, turned out nicely
Banner Design Software: Flash Banner Maker for custom banner design
add on the bottom of this page, appropriate lol
gimp
GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program
free. opensource. serious competitor to photoshop. can use (certain?) photoshop plugins and stuff.
oh, and altanaview to get the pics of npc's and pc's and mobs and such.
paint.net ?
Either Photoshop if you've got it, or Gimp. Gimp is free.
GIMP is great and somewhat easy to learn.
Or if you just want the name brand, find a copy of Photoshop.
There are a lot of free image editing software out there, but GIMP is the best imo.
I've been using Adobe Photoshop at work for a long time so I've stuck with that for the sake of my own familiarity with it. There are some friends of mine that swear by ArtWeaver as comparable free program though. There is even a portable version you can download to a USB Flash drive and take with you from PC to PC without having to install it.
Photoshop, GO! The is an online, FREE, Photoshop you can use too. Just can't remember what it's called.
