    Changing "Stance" DATs.

    Ok sooooooo i'm sick of looking at my HUME DARK KNIGHT hold a Great Sword like some kind of queer. Are there DATs that you can change to alter how you look while wielding a Great Sword?

    Hume holding Great Sword looks funny, but nothings worse than Elvaan single wielding a dagger.

    It's... possible... using the latest version of VRS, but that's not to say it would be easy. On the contrary, it's out of the reach of most without prior experience with that sort of thing.

    Replace ROM/32/17 with ROM/32/19, that's a start. The only problem is engaging and disengaging.

    17 is Hume Male using Great Sword animation, 19 is Great Katana. If there was a way to change the engage/disengage animations I'd use that fulltime.

    So I will hold Great Sword like Great Katana, but it will look funky when I Disengage/Engage?

    If it doesnt look to messed up I might use it.

    It kinda slides sideways off your back and pops into your hand when you engage while your character acts like he's pulling out a great katana.

    I remember hearing something about people figuring out how to edit the animation dats but it was supposedly very difficult. I'd be quite content if someone knew how to take the GS engage/disengage animations and merge them with the rest of the GK stuff.

    am i the only one that noticed that elvaans are only left handed when they hold greatswords? (im not elvaan)

    Nope. I noticed that any damn 2h weapon I hold or have holstered, it shows up on the opposite side of any other race. What really bugs me is that when an Elvaan F has any 2h weapon, the way they hold it just looks awkward as hell, like they're saying "I'm supposed to do what with this?"

    That's how elvaan F look, full stop. Flat-out retarded. Of all the race/sex combos I'm glad I didn't choose, female elvaan is the one I'm happiest about.

    i think hume M stances are all the "natural" ones, elvaan are over exaggerated. Worst one has got to be elvaan M single weilding a Katana. Horrible.

    Well... DAT swapping does work to a point. However, the problem lies in the fact that on occasion, there is more than one animation located within a given DAT. This occurs fairly frequently with weapons. Of each animation, there's a top, bottom, and... (other, I forget which) part.

    In theory, it would be possible to replace specific animations (i.e. make it so that the GSD > GKT conversion still uses the original GSD 'ine' (draw weapon) and 'ote' animations... however, I never was very good with editing animations to begin with, and I've been out of practice with VRS for months. I think Gulkeeva might be able to answer this better than I, I know he spent a lot of time tinkering around with it.
