I'm still really really pumped to see it though. My school had a screening a month ago or something and I haven't heard one person that didn't love it.

Ali G's BBC Channel 4 stuff was waaaayyyyy funnier than his HBO stuff.

He recycled some of the skits but, his older stuff is classic. His movie Ali G In Da House is great too.

I saw one episode of the Ali G show where he had Dan Rather or some other famous news guy on. It was some of the funniest shit ever. I totally got the impression that Dan Rather didn't have a fucking clue who Ali G was and thought he honestly was a retard.

Must be an Ali G thing. I have no idea who the guy is, the ads on TV look retarded without a single funny moment, the crap I've seen on YouTube makes it look like a pathetic rehash of Trigger Happy TV + SNL skit with Dan Akroyd/Steve Martin (2 wild & crazy guys!) + Yackov Shmirnoff. Definitely no intention of seeing this.

Personally, I not usually a big fan of comedy that relies on fucking with people who aren't in on the joke (Tom Green, Ali G, etc.) but Borat is hilarious because he would be funny even on a scripted show, the character of a Kazakhstani who, among other things, believes that no sex is consensual unless paid for and rape is the norm, slavery still exists in america, etc. etc. is just hilarious.

Regarding the threat of a lawsuit to Sasha Baron Cohen (the actor's name), Borat said "I fully support my country's actions against this Sasha Baron Cohen. I hope they sue that Jew."
