    Monks, Faf/Nidhogg

    Just curious if any monks have melee'd Fafnir and Nidhogg instead of Chi blast. I know it would give him a gang of TP but just curious how damage if meleeing with WAR or THF sub, I'd imagine THF sub in most cases so you can SATA tanks. Anyone have an info or SS of the DMG?

    Fix'd

    Chances are if you use SA it will turn and flail.

    I guess if a monk was serious about meleeing, they'd could sub sam and charge up [Slowga] TP and do a decent DMG ws, or pull out their fists and be responsible for a long and sloppy fight because of the TP they'll give it. Most would just sub WHM and Chi Blast though >_> or sit outside the alliance lol.

    Why not use as much Subtle Blow eq as you possibly could? Wouldn't that reduce the tp gain? I mean, each spell gives more tp than each round a mnk is in battle, is it that much of a difference?

    There are plenty of other jobs that can SATA tanks. Chi Blast ftw.

    Right.. You do know that BLMs, RDMs, and BRDs will give him TP also, right?

    Every successfully landed spell is 10% TP.

    Except BLMs do good damage.

    Stoneskin and Blink so you're not a WHM mp drain either.

    Yes, those spells save your tanks, but they still give mobs 10% TP per landing..

    Elegy, Dia II, Paralyze, Slow, Blind (Assuming you use Dia.. some don't because they like to sleep Fafnir/Nidhogg every so often.)

    That's 50% TP and you haven't even STARTED nuking/attacking. Add in some other spells and I'm sure Fafnir has enough in no time!

    I would easily give up 50% TP to Fafhogg for the chance his Wing/Breathe will be paralyzed and his attacks with slowed by that much. Plus you usually always have 3-4 sleeps. Seperate that into 10 minutes and you have a sleep every 2:30. If you can't handle Fafhogg with that, you suck.

    Wing, Breath, Flail, etc. are all TP moves if I'm correct. Paralyze doesn't affect this, only affects normal attacks.

    Edit: This is assumed information, yes, assumed. I don't know 100%, so chill out, I can accept any factor of being wrong. -.-;
