Bonus Battles
Sorrowful Blade
Gabranth
HP: ???
Target Score:
- Defeat Gabranth without being KO'ed.
Weak: None
Absorb: None
Resist: None
Null: None
Status Vulnerabilities: Silence, Stun
Notes: Gabranth will start the fight under haste, and will be immune to magic for two turns at the start of his "Weak" phase.
Everything here is physcial as well, so forget about shell.
Reach Madness' Way ++
Dr. Cid, Famfrit
HP: Cid: ??? - Famfrit: ???
Target Score:
- Defeat Dr. Cid without being KO'ed.
Weak: Cid: Holy - Famfrit: Fire
Absorb: Cid: Dark - Famfrit: Water
Resist: Cid: All except Holy/Dark
Null: Famfrit: All except Fire/Water
Status Vulnerabilities: Stun
Notes: Cid begins with a buff suite of haste/pro/shell - so certainly dispel is in order.
When Famfrit spawns, Cid will become immune to everything and take on more of a support role with a decent ranged physical threat. On top of that, much of his regular arsenal is physical, ranged, piercing, or all of the above - so back row won't save you much.
Famfrit doesn't have much, but can silence you with decent success. Defeating Famfrit will remove Cid's invulnerability.
A Warrior's Death +++
Gabranth
HP: ???
Target Score:
- Defeat Gabranth without being KO'ed.
Weak: None
Absorb: None
Resist: None
Null: None
Status Vulnerabilities: Silence, Stun
Notes: Nothing new move wise from the previous fight...still all physical.
Instead of magic immunity upon entering weak phase, Gabranth will pull an Emperor Palamecia and heal up - restoring HP and removing status.
Ultimate + Apocalypse Battles
Onslaught of Authority
凶Hashmal
HP: 280,000
Target Score:
Weak: None
Absorb: None
Resist: None
Null: None
Status Vulnerabilities: None
Notes: You have both physical and magic attacks to worry about here. His magical stuff is earth element, and Quakera does have a moderate chance to slow you. So be aware.
Like the first Gabranth fight, Hashmal will become immune to magic for 2 turns upon entering Weak phase.
Dragon Cloaked In Wind +
凶Tiamat
HP: 380,000
Target Score:
- Defeat Tiamat before it uses 凶Tempest 3 times.
Weak: Earth (50% Weak)
Absorbs: Wind
Resists: Everyting Else
Null: None
Vulnerabilities: None
Moveset:
Scratch (PHY: ST extremely heavy physical)
Don't Act (NAT: AOE low chance to Stop)
Breath (NAT: AOE heavy physical fire, medium chance to Sap)
Air Screw (PHY: AOE moderate ranged physical wind)
Whirlwind (PHY: RT ranged physical wind, 2 hits)
凶 Tempest (NAT: AOE piercing ranged physical wind)
Scratch (PHY: AOE moderate physical)
Counter Reflect (response to black or white magic if Reflect is not active; WHT: Self Reflect)
(Default/Weak only) Aerora (BLU: ST magical wind)
(Weak/V Weak only) Cyclone (NAT: AOE piercing ranged physical wind)
(V Weak only) Chain Aeroga (BLU: RT magical wind, 2 hits)
(V Weak only) Great Storm (PHY: RT heavy ranged physical wind, 3 hits)
Notes: A little different on the medal condition front. Tiamat could use Tempest 10 times, or only once. It isn't a scripted AI for number of turns, but a 1/7 chance to use it every turn. It will not use it until its 10th global turn, however.
You do have a mix of physical and magic attacks, piercing physical hits of varying elements, and ranged threats to worry about. On top of that, he counter Black and White magic with reflect and can AoE stop and sap your party.
There is only 1 element attack that isn't wind, but it is an aoE piercing physical fire hit so choose your poison with elemental accessories.
Cid Mission: Physical teams will have an "easier" time, only because they won't have to deal with reflect. The downside is that XII isn't exactly swimming in in-realm earth element users and it's hard to bring Ashe and earth spells with the reflect issue.
You may also want to double healer it, as Tiamat can put out the status just often enough to ruin runs. Luckily, Penelo can function as a debuff dancer while Larsa main heals.
Vaan's BSB won't help much on incoming damage, but will assist with outgoing hits since it's a little difficult to exploit earth damage here.
Basch could help direct some of the ST physical hits, but draw fire won't take all of them.
Monster Lurking in the Deepwood (Apoc +)

- Win the battle with at least 3 characters alive.

Ardor (BLK: AOE 342% magical fire)
Slowga (WHT: AOE 38% chance to Slow)
Darkga (BLK: AOE 342% magical dark)
Counter Holy (100% response to black magic; NAT: ST 330% magical holy)
Notes: Mix of everything here really, sporting physical and magic hits of multiple elements. Not to mention KB starts the fight with a suite of pro/shell/haste/regen/reflect active so definately pack a dispel.
AI here will have KB shift to a phsycial or magical immune state every 5th turn it remains in a phase. This state will last 4 turns.
The slowga/stop threat is strong enough to warrant accessories, especially since KB can use 5 different elements as it is. Additionally, KB will use White Breath on the 1st turn of Weak and Very Weak phase - brining piercing physical ranged ice damage and that hefty stop chance. Since that is scripted, you can set up a physical blink if available. Otherwise, Affliction Break would be a better option to handle both stop and slow.
Jump Start Notes: No changes from the A+ version.
