Looks like a really solid lineup.
The THPS2X run earlier had some good commentary despite the runner making a lot of goofs. DUSK was also something to watch if you like runs that go from 0 to 1,000 real quick in terms of gottagofast despite the devs on mic not shutting up at points.
Like the Hotfix GDQs prior, I do like the lack of meme spouting audience, although I can see how other folks want a cheering crowd.
Ya, I watched most of the Dusk run, and thought the commentary was fine. Not like the runner could really explain shit as it was happening, since he was going so fast. Only complaint I had was it was kinda cheesy trying to sell the game during the run, but, whatever.
The event feels so empty without the audience. The annoying shouts of orb and hype kind of brought life to some of the duller runs. Chat has also been pretty tame. I hope they keep incentives low, people don't really have that money to be throwing at charity this tkme around with the unemployment issue right now.
Its just not polished, imho. From technical issues having everything remote, to a woodchipper running in the background for ALL of the Secret of Mana run. ESA came off as really well polished with bumper interviews and glitch exhibitions happening during setups, while GDQ has been an embarrassing mix of hot mics, dropped connections, and even some abnormally.excessive cringe during prize segments.
The lineup is great. Execution has taken a few hits even when considering it's all remote.
They need to find a better way to implement a digital couch and mandate some higher quality benchmarks for runners broadcasting.
Just doesn't feel worth watching as it is. The couch commentary adds so much to the feels that it isn't the same.

I tried watching the power blade run they uploaded to youtube. No mention that 11 minutes in the runner DC's and never comes back. Why the fuck would you upload that shit to youtube?

Oh dear lord, time to go to bed instead of watching Splatoon.
It's like hes talking through a Gateway PC microphone from 1998 with 10 box fans blowing in the background.
Okay, this DMC4 commentary is great.
"So, Nero. Hes kind of a weeb."
"Yes, this boss fight is against window."
"Oh, you're serious."
"I'm telling you guys. The beyblades, they hate you."
The event doesn't interest me much this year and the games either but hope they do good
