Since people are jumping on me for this:
I am a HUGE minimalist. Like, really, I fit everything I own into a Hyundai Tiburon (small sports car) and moved cross country. I sell what I don't need or the big things each time I move. (Backstory.)
That being said: This stuff is all ridiculously priced for terrible reasons. They are making a huge profit on fucking chocolates and candles that for 1) I don't need. 2) If I wanted to donate to something I'd just go donate and skip the middlemen. and 3) I think it promotes wrong values. (And yes, some of it goes towards charities or whatever but they still make profit on the actual items.)
That being said, "Let's help my daughter get a TV" is not exactly the kinda thing that makes me want to help out. Your daughter is like 10. She doesn't need a TV in her room. Trust me on this.
As for Ayuriae: The kid makes no progress other than a new TV. Awesome. Shit, wish I had the internet back in my day to win shit with these damn fundraisers. /butthurt 90's kid
