    Commentary

The Little Chariot stages have 3 Little Chariots. The Neo Garula stages have 2 Neo Garulas.
The Gilgamesh fight is the same as earlier, but with higher stats. The other fights are a playground for anyone who still has Odin, or for Crush.
    [B]

    The Void ++
    Necrophobe
    HP: ~95,111 (Necrophobe), ~47,555 (Barriers)
    Target Score:
    • Reduce Necrophobe's ATK.
    • Reduce a Barrier's MAG.
    • Afflict a Barrier with Slow.

    Weak: All but Dark (Necrophobe)
    Resists:
    Null: Earth
Vulnerabilities: Silence Abilities, Slow Abilities, Blind Abilities, Stun Abilities (Both)

    Commentary
    • Necrophobe is immune to attacks and will not attack until all four Barriers are destroyed. Once the last Barrier is destroyed, Necrophobe uses Flash as an interrupt.

Bring heavy magical mitigation for the Barriers, but make sure to bring at least some physical mitigation for Necrophobe himself. You can opt to use Carbuncle instead of magical mitigation, as all of the magical attacks are single-target, but if you do make sure you have enough AOE healing and regen to cover the physical and gravity attacks

Total medals = 18, meaning you can only afford to lose 3 medals to get Mastery.

    North Mountain +++
    Bahamut
    HP: ~204,985
    Target Score:
    • Reduce Bahamut's MAG.
    • Reduce Bahamut's DEF.
    • Afflict Bahamut with Slow.

    Weak: None
    Absorbs: None
    Resist: None
    Null: Earth
Vulnerabilities: Slow Abilities, Blind Abilities, and Stun Abilities

    Commentary
    • Bahamut always uses Megaflare on its third turn.

Most of Bahamut's damage is magical, but watch out for its occasional physical attack and for Maelstrom. Maelstrom is especially dangerous if anyone is Sapped.

Total medals = 18, meaning you can only afford to lose 3 medals to get Mastery.

Special: Flare (deal 650% magical non-elemental damage to one target)
70% chance to activate in response to physical attacks: Curaja (recover ~6,600 HP to all targets)

    Commentary
    • Omniscient starts the fight under Regen status. Minotaur casts Holy when killed. Omnisicent casts Flare when killed.

Draw Fire + Retaliate mostly negates Minotaur's Default phase, and Carbuncle entirely negates Omniscient's Default phase. Both get more dangerous in their Weak phases, with Minotaur dealing significantly more damage with his attacks and favoring his AOE more, while Omniscient adds AOEs to his arsenal and drops the status ailments all together. Watch out for Omniscient's AOE Blizzaga in particular, as it's his strongest spell aside from Flare. I recommend bringing Carbuncle anyway and packing primarily magical mitigation, then focus fire Minotaur down quickly before turning to Omniscient. This version of Omniscient does not counter physical damage with Reset, so don't worry too much about your team composition. He does counter physical abilities (but not SBs) with a ~6600 HP Curaja about 70% of the time, but he can't counter while Stopped and his Mind is quite low, so take advantage of that where possible.

20% chance to activate in response to physical attacks: Knight: Double Cut (deal 188% physical damage twice to one target)

    Commentary
    • Bartz switches to Weak state and uses Trueblade of Legend as an interrupt at 70% HP. Bartz switches to Very Weak state and uses Four Radiances as an interrupt at 40% HP.

You really want a wall for this one, because around 82.6% of the time his first two attacks are going to be Kicks for 2.5 to 4k damage on your entire party. It's possible to survive the opening barrage with a Protectga and judicious use of Defend, but his offense doesn't let up as he goes. An Armor Break or Armor Breakdown is very useful to dispel his Trueblade of Legend buff, and you really want a Full Break, Break Fever, or Full Breakdown SSB ready to remove his Burst Mode buff after he uses Four Radiances. Anyway, his offense is entirely physical except for the unmitigatable Multi-Launch Missile, so don't bother with any magical defenses.

Event Quest Notes: I strongly recommend bringing wall for this and leaving Shout behind. Exdeath with a synergy rod, Memento Mori, and Dark Zone will tear through Bartz's HP. Don't bother using Draw Fire + Retaliate on Gilgamesh, just load him up with Banishing Strike and Saint Cross (or whatever powerful attacks you have for him).

Total medals = 18, meaning you can only afford to lose 3 medals to get Mastery.

This is the first one I think but better get used to it. We're almost done with MC2s released during events and some of the upcoming ones will have neither new characters nor costumes to get. We will get more abilities though so that's something.
We'll have like three in a row soon (FFVIII, FFVII, FFIX): no characters, no costumes and the new crystals will be blank MC3s (from the last two). At least the FFIX event has Chain Firaga.

switched my RW to Faris BSB for this event, rge2. will probably keep it there for the time being and update synergy gear as new events come out. figure it's time for a change since shout's common as dirt and most folks here have it now. full 5* synergy plus RD bonuses gives her something silly like 530 attack, so the initial damage should be pretty nice.

I guess the best takeaway from this event was more stuff for Faris.

i'll sixth that, bartz is very tough. it's at least merciful in that your S/L decision tree begins on turn zero; if your healer isn't first in ATB and full from the start, S/L. if you healer has initiative /and/ finishes protectga before the first monk kick, you have a chance.

i've had one very solid run so far and the fucking game crashed during light of the four. very annoying.

    setup i'm running is:

gilgamesh: saint's cross/banishing strike, faithful companion, ace striker
faris: armor breakdown/wrath, beryl/serpent/broadside, dr. mog
    bartz: dismissal/lifesiphon, trueblade, MM
lenna: curaja/protectga, shared medica, knight's charge
galuf: full charge/lifesiphon, unshaken resolve, fist+20%

    RW wall

I got CM clear with -4 medals (-1 damage, -3 dispel target score) after some party tweaks and about 25 S/l across all of my attempts. I got it after 3 S/L with this setup:

    Spoiler: show

    Butz 80 - Full Charge r3 / Steal power r4 / Weapon DMG / SSB
    Lenna 80 - Curaja r5 / Protectga r3 / Doublecast / Princess's Favor
    Faris 80 - Full Break r2 / Armor Breakdown r4 / Dragoon's Determination / Shared Medica
    Exdeath 80 - Haste r5 / Curaga r5 / Auto-haste / Shared Medica
    Greg 80 - Saint Cross r4 / Mirror of Equity r2 / Weapon DMG / SSB

    RW - Wall

Opened by using defend on my front row chars (butz and greg) and trying to get protectga and wall off asap. Need some good ATB RNG for the start to minimize the damage from the 2 opening kicks. My haste cycle was Lenna > Greg > Butz > Faris > Exdeath, with an occasional heal thrown by exdeath where needed.

Even with wall, protectga, full break, and steal power the damage output is pretty high, especially during his specials during the phase changes and the various quad attacks, though I was able to manage it with this setup in 1 try once i got good enough opening RNG. Shout setup was not working at all for me, almost always lost 1-2 from trueblade and light of the four and would run out of steam.

well, i cleared with an A-team, but thus far every time i get to light of the four with my CM team, the application crashes. no clue what the hell is bugged, but i guess i won't get my fancy orb bonus this time around.

1/ I don't want to know... was over an hour worth of headaches.

    RW was wall

If Leena didn't have full bar S/Led.

Bounty Hunter RM helped to set up mitigation in the beginning, tried draw fire with Gilgamesh but always ran out of gas at the end.

Unique SB: Sea Lord's Broadside, Fist of The Dawn, True Blade of Legend.
Skills: Full Charge, Thief's Revenge, Saint Cross rank 3. Full Break, Tornado Strike rank 2.

(If I did it again, would probably drop drain strike for life siphon, maybe Full Charge for something else, and use different RM for Gilgamesh and Faris).

    Spoiler: show
