Dragoons: What do you use for healing breath?

Just wondering if anyone could give me equipment ideas for maxing out my HP to trigger healing breath. Never really got a chance so far to do alot of soloing with drg yet, but i want to be the best i can be. Any help is very much appriciated.

What level/race are you and what gear you have available (having items like the Bomb Queen Ring instantly makes this easier and some races like tarus can get a lot of +HP from RSE etc.)? Also, how pedantic are you about capping it out i.e. how much of your inventory space you're willing to sacrifice?

I've personally never been too fussed about my max HP but then I'm sitting on rather comfortable elvaan HP and vast majority of my DRG soloing doubles up as farming for gils so I try to keep my inventory as empty as possible. More important to worry about wyvern HP as that actually raises the healing potency imho.

As a hume, I use a really nice balance of just about everything in my soloing gear.

Weapon – Mezraq
Grip – Pole Strap
Head – Turban/Conte Zucchetto
Body – Homam
Hands – Homam/Dusk
Legs – AF+1
Feet – Homam
Ring 1 – BQ
Ring 2 – Rajas
Earring 1 – Brutal
Earring 2 – Ethereal
Neck – Chanoix’s
Back – Foragers
Waist – Swift
Ammo – Mamoolbane/Angon. This depends on what I’m fighting and if I need a ranged attack for pulls or not. Just be sure not to use a Tiphia here.

With that setup, I get HBs for 409, and my max HP before food is a little over 1300, fluctuating a bit over/under depending on the sub that I use.

If I’m fighting really hard-hitting stuff (like Aura Statues by Ulli), then I go /BLU and equip spells with +Hp in my extra slots, and use Carbonara for food to push my HP over the 1500 mark. I don’t have any HP merits yet, but plan on putting a few into them once I finish STR.

I tend to go more HP+ than anything when possible for most spots, but it also depends on what I'm fighting (i.e. how hard and fast it hits). Here's a list of items I use that involve Healing Breath: (Not listing general stuff like Mezraq that won't affect HB)

Ammo: Fenrir's Stone (HP+ during day)
Head: Drachen Armet+1, Wyrm Armet+1
Neck: Chanoix's Gorget (WHP+)
Ear: Ethereal Earring (pwn earring)
Body: Homam Corazza (HP+), Wyvern Mail (WHP+)
Hands: Homam Manoples (HP+)
Rings: BQ Ring (HP+) [Also used Saatva before I changed back to Rajas]
Back: Gigant Mantle (HP+)
Waist: Gold Moogle Belt (HP+; love this)
Legs: Drachen Hose+1 (WHP+), Homam Cosciacles (HP+)
Feet: Homam Gambieras (HP+ & WHP+) [Previously used Marine F Boots (HP+)

My HB trigger macros all include the following though regardless of other gear:

/equip Head "Drachen Armet+1"
/equip Body "Wyvern Mail"
/wait [can't remember lol]
/equip Head "Wyrm Armet+1"

I'd macro in more if I had the lines available, but Wyvern Mail is purely a macro piece because it has such a nice WHP boost. And I generally leave Drachen Brais on if I'm going to be spamming HB.

Just keep in mind with your macros that Wyvern Max HP pieces sometimes don't go into effect quick enough when you lag. for this reason If I am going to use a piece I wear it full time and only macro in my Armet pieces.

When my LS does JoL, one NIN with full eva set grabs both Ru'Phuabo's and with me, tanks both of them while I keep him alive with Healing Breath for the entire run.

Best possible gear for Healing Breath(this is what I use, its the best setup for healing breath potency)

Weapon: Wyvern Perch
Sub: Staff Strap(MP)
Ammo:Hedgehog Bomb(MP gear)
Head: Drachen Armet+1/Wyrm Armet
Neck: Chavoix Gorget
Ear1: Loquacious Earring
Ear2: Antivenom Earring
Body: Wyvern Mail
Hands:Ostregar Mitts
Ring1: Astral Ring
Ring1: Astral Ring
Back: Lamia Mantle
Waist: Powerful Rope
Legs: Drachen Brais+1
Feet: Homam Gambeiries

With this setup your healing breaths will cure for roughly 460-480ish. 764 with Deep Breathing.
